I recently bought a 2006 226 team , the boat is in very good condition . It has factory ballast but the wake is always washed out . I have tried different speeds and combinations of ballast but cant clean up the wake at all . If anyone could help that would be great .

What speeds have you tried? You'll likely need to go 21+ to have a clean wake on that boat.

There are just so many factors we need a pretty good idea for a baseline. At those speeds there is no reason the wake shouldn't be clean.
Possible your speedos are actually off. On older models like this the perfect pass can get out of calibration. It can be 3-5mph off in some cases. So break out the gps and make sure it's running true to speed. Next I would make sure all ballast tanks are filling equally and staying full throughout the session. The valves were prone to failure. There is w slight chance your rudder or one if your tracking find may be bent. For the life of me I can't recall when Naitique first indroduced the hydrogate at the moment. Make sure if your boat has it , it is completely retracted in the up position which is usually pushing that shifter forward. Inspect that and make sure it's functioning properly.

You can adjust the perfect pass so it fixes that delay. In fact, I used to do it at the beginning of every season with my 220.
But my advice is that you buy the perfect pass gps upgrade. It makes a huge difference in terms a wake stability for the 220-226 hull. It´s called Star Gazer Upgrade and it´s 550$. Easy to install and it´s worth every dollar.Last edited by josemolino; 01-28-2016, 04:00 AM.

Have a Stargazer on my 226 and it is great! Also get a Fat Brick to dial in the wake, especially if only have 2-3 passengers. I keep mine on the battery box most of the time. Belly tank 1/2 full. Nice rampy wake at 20. Even better at 22.

with the 226 wake so sensitive to weight I would recommend two 50 pound lead plates so you you can move around on floor to have that perfect weight each time regardless who is in the boat...2013 G23 super air

Robert is correct WRT 226, eventhought he had another boat in mind. 226 is weight sensitive. Recommend a fat brick or two. No need to carry weight when not boarding. The fat brick will allow you to dial in wake for each rider.
