Which year SAN 210 should I buy?

I'm in the market for a 2005-2010 super air nautique 210, 211, 216, etc. This range in years is due to my budget and 21' size due to size of my dock. I have little kids and am looking for an all around family boat I can use for boarding, skiing and tubing. I'm not a hard core wakeboarder. I understand there was a hull redesign in 2007 and have heard mixed reviews about it. Any feedback you guys can offer over desirable year models and ones to stay away from would be greatly appreciated? also if anyone has opinion on model (TE, LE, SV-211, etc) I'd love to hear those as well. Thanks

I know I am biased but I love our 210. I like to board a lot and getting more into the surfing as it doesn't beat you up as bad. The kids love tubing behind our boat as well. Friend has the SV211 and it is a nice all around boat.

That's just screaming SV-211. Two other guys on my lake have 211's for that exact reasoning and they have no regrets even after spending time in my '06 and my friend's '10. Of course if you ask a 210 owner they'll say SANTE all day, but get what fits you best.

            So couple different options.

First I don't think anyone has ever considered the hull of an 07-13 210 sub par in anything. Upon its original release the knock was against the wakeboard wake because it was su mellow compared to the older hull wake. However after some water time and some extra ballast the wake grew in everyone and it again solidified itself as one of the best out there. It's very versatile from newbies to pros which makes it a great family boat. It surfs exceptionally well. And skis ok. Has more storage than an SV 211 and has an overall deeper feel to it inside.

The other choice is the SV 211. Wakeboard wake isn't quite as good towards the advanced rider, but recreational riders will be served a great wake that will still have the capability to get you inverted and spinning with ease. The 210 surfs better as well. The 211 skis better. The 211 also has a walkthru transom. Some really like it as it gives you easy access to the swim platform and is great for ha hanging out in the coves swimming. The disadvantage is you loose storage and a bit of ballast room. The other advantage of the 211v is the fact it has a true ski pylon. It's way more useful for tubing and skiing than the weak tiny rear transom pylon on the 210. You can not tube from the rear pylon on the 210 as the rope gets buried in the prop wash because the pylon is so low. You have no choice but to tune from the tower. The pylon on the 210 works fine for skiing.

Either way both are tremendous family/multisport boats. The 210 has a long legacy and is a boat people are always looking for when you're thinking about selling later on. The SV 211 is more of a niche boat geared towards a more specifc buyer so it won't fetch the premium and may be a bit harder to sell when the time comes.

Based on your described use, the 211 is what you're after.

Having spent time in both a 211 and a '08 210, I will echo what Swat laid out for you. Walk through transom is really nice, but eats into storage/ballast room. The 210 feels much roomier inside, and it has a reversible seat which is a an option you don't realize you're missing until you have it.
The 210 will be more money, but not that big a difference now...

Completely forgot to mention the convertible rear seat on the 210. . We use it a ton. It allows everyone to face the rider behind the boat in a position with a backrest. All 6 people in the cockpit can face the action very comfortably. Nice call MIljac

Not mine but this boat has been treated very well. Jay is a great honest guy. Send him a PM.

hmm...I'm looking to purchase an 03-06 210 and I didn;t know about this. I always thought tubing from the tower was a no no.

The 03-06 has a much different pylon and location it's on the top deck just towards the front of the engine hatch. It's easily able to tow tubes. The 03-06 also Has as a different tower than those years.
