That was a very nice video! Thanks for sharing. I think I may put a link to that in my sales ad. 'And if you buy this boat, you will ride like this in no time at all!'

Ironj- Just curious why you would put such an oversized bag under the front seats? I happened to be just finishing up volume calculations for all of the compartments in my G, and there is less than 2.5 cubic feet of available space under each bow seat. A full bag under each bow seat is going to hold less than 150lbs each.
I was looking to order some custom bow bags to fit perfectly in those compartments. Just wondering if you found something that works better.
Midship seats calculated dead on to what you run there..... 312 lbs in each.
I actually put 750 pound bags under there. If you get down there and reach in far, you'll find that there is a lot of room that runs up the side wall (go beyond the faux teak), and way up at the very front. I'm basing my 300 off of calc's as well (conservatively). The 750s are way oversized, but they allow me to fill every nook and cranny, without putting pressure on the seat hinges. I put 450s under the midship seats. I've attached the specs of a bag I'll have made, if I go custom. They are oversized by a few inches in all directions, so I don't have to have them bursting at the seams.

That's what I thought would happen when I bought my G23.................it didn't work so now I have to go buy an xstar. haha.

I thought about doing bags that would go up the sidewall when I had all of the interior gutted on my G a couple weeks ago. But then realized that there was only about 2" worth of breathing room behind the cupholder/grabhandle recessed trim. I was thinking that the bag would break the trim panels. They are just 1/8" molded plastic. You don't have any trouble with that?
I ended up going a different route on my ballast setup, and will post it in here when I am done with it. The custom bags are being made right now. It is not going to be the kind of weight you are running though. It is going to be about 2100lbs over stock, and maintain the same center of gravity as the stock ballast.
I'm wanting to add some weight to my pas side of the boat. I'm 260lbs so I think I will need a little bit more than the 200 lbs you'll have ben talking about. I looked at the leadwake and pop products. I'm looking at the 400 lbs range. Pop is 375 shipped and leadwake is 540. Is there a 165 dollar difference between them? I have only messed with water weight so this is new to me.
thanks

only difference i am aware of is pop-products is actually steel pellets and leadwake is lead. that being said, i have used the same pop-products bags for 5 years in multiple boats with no issues. i would save the $165

I was going to spend a lot of money on custom bags as well...but then I watched this video and realized my money would be better spent on lessons! LOL Nice riding! KILLING IT! I'll be lucky if my knees can handle even the factory ballast!

Yes the difference is the steel. The lead is better because it is resistant to corrosion and won't rust whereas the steel will. And over a period of time, the steel will corrode enough that it will actually decrease it's weight count. Granted, the speed at which it all does this depends greatly on how your bags are placed to avoid any moisture, and how well the bags are sealed.
