MAYBE could be used as an aftermarket NSS

I'm new on here & have been doing a TON of reading on here & google searching for all different ways to build a DIY NSS or gate setup for my 04 SAN 210 TE. I know that this
topic has been beat to death but thought I'd ask for everyone's thoughts. I tried searching on the site for any discussion about it in the past but nothing came up. Do you think this system would work like the NSS if installed vertically on the side edges of the transom?

I was so close to putting go surf assist or a similar type system on my 2005 SAN, but decided to punt and get something with NSS. Part of me still wonders what it would have been like to be the Guinea pig.
