    Bow thrusters/Jet thrusters on MasterCraft

WOW- This seems like a nice option to have on any V drive boat. It is also very expensive to add. It would make backing out of those long narrow spots much less challenging, or parking on the port side. I could see this being offered by nautique

They are small jet thrusters located at the front of the boat to help maneuver it in tight spots. Available only on the X26 in the MC lineup. However, even though the video states it is an "exclusive to Mastercraft", they are not. The new Malibu M235 has them as well.

I think they would be great. Would like to try them out.

No prob....and I may stand corrected on my statement about the M235 having it...somebody told me that they did, but I can't seem to find any evidence of it! However, they've been available on larger boats for quite some time.

Oh....and btw...if you REALLY wanted these...you can probably have them added to your boat!!

But for what it costs....I'd just rather buy a trolling motor and throw it over the side if I ever needed it! haha! I think I can drive well enough and keep the $$$ in my pocket!

I wonder how they would do with a heavy cross wind. That is the only time I would use them. When I am pulling on to lift and it is windy my nose can get blown off course easily. It can be a bit tricky to get boat in lift.

I agree with you here! Either boat lifts or trailers too!! Crosswind really can make doing so become a 3 person job! Very hard to do by one's self!

This system seems way to complicated with to many parts- that is why it is so expensive and why we may never see it on our boats.

How about a giant reversible ballast pump in the front (or rear too) that draws water from one side and pushes out the other. One pump, two hoses, two ports. No expensive control valve, intake , hoses, and hardware.

I talked to them today. For a G-23 they recommended the JT-30, $4,000 for the parts. Would be nice to have in high wind conditions but If I ever get where I cannot dock it; I've either gone out when I shouldn't have or stayed out too long getting one last run in before the storm. I like the reversible ballast pump idea but I'm not sure if it would create enough force. The redneck option is to put a trolling motor off the bow and have you buddy run it.

Put one of these jet things on the back starboard side. So then when docking on the wrong side it would push the back end in. Basically like the propeller pulling the back end in, while in reverse.

I do not think I would spend the effort and money to install a system without doing all four sides and have joystick control. You could parallel park. And the wife could drive.
