    Swim Platform

I have a 2002 AR210 TE and have heard if you change out the swim platform to one of the bigger newer styles it can effect your wake does anyone know if this is true and or if you can even change out to one of the newer styles since I have an older boat? Thanks

So you're looking at getting a fiberglass platform? Like the ones that came stock on the later models?

Yeah but I am not sure if I can or not and don't want to mess up the wake ( if this is even true)

Not to hijack your thread, but speaking of the swim platforms on the newer '15's and '16's, how much of a pain is it to remove it and re-install? I am looking at the G21 and for it to fit in my garage I would need to remove it each time and reinstall each time. It looks like there are two pins to remove? Thanks for your help.

Not sure if it's an option or standard but the newer ones hinge down instead of needing to be removed completely.

I think your best bet is to look for a 2003 swim platform if you want composite. There have been a few people that have made custom fiber/carbon fiber ones on here that look pretty sharp too.

It would be unusual for a swim platform to affect the wakeboard wake. It is common for larger platforms to affect the surf wave. Please clarify what you mean. The easiest way to tell if it would affect your surf wave would be to find out how much bigger the new platform would be, then observe your surf wave with your current platform. If the wave erupts immediately behind the current platform, then the new one would likely be affected by it. Oddly enough, it could even improve the wave, but usually makes it worse.
