So I have a 2009 230 that i have added NSS to it and it works great. The question is that i have the older style black platform mounts on my boat and when i added the NSS i had to add 2 inch spacer under the platform to clear the NSS rams. My platform mounts are getting worn out and are starting to make noise and bugging me, I have tried tightening all the hardware and even adding a second pin and it still squeaks. The great thing is if i went to the newer style mount i could alleviate the need for the 2 inch space i have currently and have it be much cleaner.
Thinking about replacing the older style swim deck mounts to the newer style mounts on the 2012 - 2013 Nautique 230's
1. Has anyone does this before ?
2. Other than the obvious the location the mounts are different and i would have to drill new holes and tap for the mounting of the new plates.
3. Can anyone confirm if the swim deck platform mounts to a metal plate within the fiberglass of the transom ? or do them go all the way through and just use a nut ?
Pictures of both the old style and the newer style are below.
The parts I was planning on using are the following off the Nautique parts site.
