    G23 Swim platform ladder?

I have a 2015 G23. LOVE the boat, but I have small kids who have a tough time getting onto the swim step from the water when the boat ballast is empty. I've seen some aftermarket ladders but would like something that would attach and stow into the bottom of the swim step, ideally not jacking up the surf wake. Has anyone seen a well-made product like this out there?

The ladder is a genuine option from the factory.
    Call your dealer.
Maybe Nautique Parts has an aftermarket version too.

I have had the ladder on all of my G's. I had to replace one so I know you can order from your dealer. With small kids it is a must. It was easy to install.

Agree with philb....check out the factory one that has been available for a few years on the G....great ladder. We use it ALL the time.. I did install an aftermarket retracting ladder on my 2010 226....which worked well also, but the factory one, from Garelick I believe works better.

Here is one on Nautique Parts don't know if it's the same one they offer on the G23's http://www.nautiqueparts.com/telesco...rplatform.aspx

I called nautiqueparts about adding this, they said there is an embedded aluminum plate in the fiberglass that you will drill and screw into.....BUT my question is what length/depth are the lag bolts into the plate/platform without going through? Don't want to drill all the way through the platform but I also want to go in enough to get some threads to grip and hold. Anyone know how "thick" the platform is or how long these bolts are that hold the ladder in?

I have a 2004 SAN and the deck is hollow plastic. I want to install the under deck swim platform but I don't want to go through to to top. Any suggestions? I have the Garelick ladder.

Same problem with kids, but here’s a cheap fix. Flood just the rear tanks to 50-100% depending on how low you want the platform. Works great and zero cost!

Agree with above. I sink the platform to 6-8 inches under the water when I’m fully ballasted, so getting in is easy.

Forgive the newb question, but any issues with hydro locking the boat if swimming for extended periods of time with the rear end sunk down like that?

Has anyone seen the new swim deck on the Malibu’s? Part of it folds out like a step into the water. Looks like a pretty cool option I’d like to have.

No- There’’ is no more exposure of the engine compartment or air intake to water when fully ballasted than there would be during any other time or activity in the water.

Gotcha. I had heard of it happening (rarely) with some other brands, so I was curious. Thanks!

The "other" brand is running a lot more ballast (5,000+) and think the engine is also mounted a little lower causing risers to be lower. Hydrolock is still only a risk if it sits with engine off for 10+ mins and the new models are programmed to start dumping ballast after 3mins of engine being off if ballast is left @ 100%
