Just wondering if anybody has done a factory tour while their boat was being built? If so, how did that come about? Did you fly down and get a hotel room? Did your dealer pay for it? Did Nautique? I'm just asking because I do know of a few Mastercraft owners that got to go to the MC factory to tour it while their boat was being built and their airline tickets and hotel was paid for! Just wondering if anybody from the Nautique world got anything like that!

Wow, thats amazing that their trips were paid for, I don't think thats the norm though. I ordered my boat in the beginning of November and still don't know the build date. I asked my dealer three times and he just says sometime in February. Called Nautique directly and left a message, but no one returned my call. Pretty frustating for as much as these boats cost.Last edited by OxDoc; 02-24-2016, 12:48 PM.

That ain't right. The dealership should have pretty close to precise build date...unless they sold a boat and do not have a slot. If that is the case, they are waiting for another dealership to give theirs up and do not know when that will happen. If they are a the back of the line, you won't get your boat until July. Disclaimer: Just speculating wildly with no real knowledge of the situation.
Back to the original question...I asked for detailed build pictures of my last boat and got about 20 of them in various steps along the way. They are posted here somewhere. I asked for the same thing this time and got completely snubbed. My experience this time has not been nearly as good. I guess they figure the fish is already hooked. I wish that I had time to go down and see the factory tour in person, but getting pictures was the next best thing.

Yeah that just don't sound right. I ordered mine in Dec. Well...I signed a purchase order in Dec. The dealer didn't send it in until 2 weeks ago. I'll be getting my boat at the end of March. However, in Dec, my dealer had 2 allotted slots for boats to be built, one in Feb and one in March. He does this and gives customers with pre-orders first pick. Then if any slots are left open, he will order a boat for themselves to sell off the lot.

Yeah I asked for pictures as well. I'm not really going to push trying to get a paid trip to see the factory. Nautique is actually doing something VERY COOL for me on my boat thanks to a good friend (who actually works for a Mastercraft dealership) who is friends with a bunch of the guys at Nautique, including Matt Moore, Matt Tierney, and also Steve Carlton (who designed the G boats)!! I gotta give credit to those guys for really hooking me up with something special....oh, and Shaun Murray too!!

Beg4wake it sounds like you know a certain gasman / pit crew member for Porsche. If it is who I think it is, he works with the MC dealership that is about four miles from my house. He's the only person I know of who fits your description above!I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We went down while ours was there as well. The engine was in and they were starting with the first stage of the interior assembly.
The travel and lodging was on us though. I piggybacked going to see a friend in FL for a few days as well so not biggie.
