    Old Super Air - Surfable?

I am close to picking up a pristine 2000 SAN this weekend. I have wakeboarded behind one many times in the past and loved it. This was back before surfing was a thing. I have searched and couldn't find much, other than a couple posts saying it is tough to surf behind the left, port, passenger side. Any discussion on this topic was very old, and many advancements and techniques have been developed since then.

Now that here are new options such as the eight.3 shaper and similar devices, I'm wondering if anyone has been able to get s good port wave? I'm getting older and fatter and can't wakeboard as long as I once did, and would like to surf about as min as I love to wakeboard.

I did my 04 210 with just ballast. It takes some tweaking but you can get a decent surfable wave.

My 03 surfs just fine. I did end up making my own redneck surf plates which helped alot but even before that it was doable.

That being said, I started off surfing behind a 2001 tige 21i. Anything would be better than that

Port side is definitely not as easy to surf as starboard, but it certainly can be done. With the hard tanks swapped for bags and a couple others in the bow and on the seats you can make it happen.
