    V drive for Skiing?

I have been looking to purchase a 2000-2003 Air DD as I am a skier but as I give it more consideration, I am considering a V-Drive. Reason being, we will be using the boat for family and kids and the V-drives have more room. With that said, in regards to the wake for a Super Air, how are they to sKi behind? I am by no means an expert slalom skier, I just don't like cutting across a massive wake and being launched. Appreciate feedback on V-drives that are decent for skiing. Thanks

Any one familiar with these two listings or have any feedback based on the details and years and their respective pricing?

The one in Vegas has a non oem tower and after market upholstery. Somewhat unusual.

If you're just looking to make some gentle turns and not stack up for hard wake crossings, the 211 will be fine. Anything more and you won't be happy. Unless you're talking 200V, there isn't a V drive that's suited for serious slalom skiing. I'd suggest taking a pull behind any you boat you would potentially buy (I guess that goes without saying).

Agree with what swc5150 said. Need to take a test float and guage your type of skiing. Ive had a DD with a tower. Great for the slalom course, not great for wakeboarding and carrying family. Now have a vdrive. Love the room and family really likes the wake. I'll rec slalom behind it but dont approach and cross the wake at my course speed of 32. At 36 the wake is pretty nice. Too fast for me. I have friends with DD if want a serious pull through the course.

Oh, yeah ... The Vegas 211 is a Limited. Tower was optional, which explains the aftermarket tower. Also check to see if it has ballast. To me the interior looks stock, but not a 211 interior expert.

Like the lower hours on the Vegas boat. Need the total hours on the other boat. He says 400 over 1000 rpm. So does the hour meter read higher hours and he's saying thats all idling to switch riders, etc? Would like to know the total hours.

Rich, I have a 2000 air and it really does everything we need it to. Slalom wake and pull is great. My wife wakeboards, and it is more than enough for her needs. With just the three of us in the boat, there plenty of room. On occasion friends or family come with and everyone is comfortable. What you need to look for is what ticks the most boxes most of the time you are using it.

Here is what I learned: "790 on dash meter. Engine printout shows 400+ hours at 0-1000 rpm."

TJ, what would the difference be between your 2000 Air and this one: http://chico.craigslist.org/boa/5449930273.html

Boat is a pro air, so the hull is slightly different that an air, geared a little more towards wakeboarding than skiing. After market tower on that boat as well, which could be the owner replaced the original with the two piece, not many 99s had the fct2 on them. I also think it is a 99, not a 2000. The HID would tell for sure. Engine isn't a GT 40, which also makes me think it is a 99. Someone may chime in on the engine, doesn't look like an apex and no way it is a python, which are both 2000 options. Don't know what the slalom wake would look like, my guess is if you are a 34mph skier, probably just fine.
