Just bought a brand new one and had it installed last week. I also added the side canopies and the remote control. We are going there Wednesday. I can answer any questions then. I think the water depth is between 4 and 5 feet at the moment.2016 G21 SupeAir.

You really need 5 ft to be comfortable. Anything under that you have to take your wheels of . I had about 4-5 ft at the beginning of the year and about 3 1/2 at the end. I had to make sure everyone got out and unload them on the Dock before putting it on the lift. They are pretty sweet though.

guy at the factory told me 28" was the minimum for it, and i'm skeptical....which is why i'm looking for input from you all. i'd plan to take the wheels off, and drop legs as low as they go. i currently have a hydraulic lift, and in about 40" of water, i have to power on and off, which i don't want to do any more.2018 SAN G23 XR550

Ok. I some info for you. Mine is in 40 inches of water. I used a tape measure and it agrees with the measurements on the Floe scale (pictured). Also the Floe dealership installers returned today so I asked them what the minimum depth is to use one. The said its 2 feet. Its determined by the width of the beam in addition to the thickness of the pad that the boat sits on. So in other words, from the bottom of the cross beam to the top of the pad (24 inches).

cool. thanks for checking! it's looks like the 10k lift has a 3.5" thicker cross beam, so i'm guessing it's safe to say that it'd need another 3.5" of water. i appreciate the insight!2018 SAN G23 XR550

Yeah, I forgot they offer the VSD6500. I remembered I wanted to go 2 sizes bigger than what meet my needs. Last time I bought a vsd5000 lift to match my (then) current boat only to have to take a huge loss on it 4 years later. Didnt want to make that mistake again. I'm hoping I wont have to buy another lift for many years to come.
I got to see my new VSD8000 for the first time yesterday and it is amazing. I never thought I'd think of the VSD5000 as puny and weak. This 8000 looks completely solid-state and has a precision you just would never expect from such a large lift. I'm just as excited about it as I am the boat. Can't wait to get the canopies on it.2016 G21 SupeAir.

Thinking about switching to Floe, again this year. It looks like the bottom cross beam is awfully close to the bunks. Do any of you who have a Floe lift, ever have an incident with your prop hitting the rear cross beam?2018 SAN G23 XR550

We have had a Floe with the G23 for a few years now and have never had the prop hit crossbar. I usually kill the engine right before halfway in and grab lift to guide boat to lineup gas cap with rear lift post. I worried a lot about prop hitting at first, so that is how our routine was established. We have double guide post on the rear and single on the front. I would highly recommend a double on front also with a G. (will be a future add on for us).
