    V-drive sacs for 210

Has anyone put sacs in the rear compartments instead of hard tanks? I am going to replace my hard tanks and i am trying to figure out the largest sacs that will fit beside the engine in an 05.

    I like the pro-x v-drives... but i want more than 400 lbs.

    Thanks

Why don't you leave the tanks and just add sacs on top

I would like to have the space to put boards in when towing the boat... also it completely destroys all storage in the lockers. If i use a sac... i will atl east be able to put a few life jackets and ropes on top of the sacs

Here's a review I did on the Pro-X sacs last year. They are really nice, and are holding up phenominally. Pro-X review

Crow and Dragon are wakeboard disciples; take their word and leave your hard tanks in place and sack it up on top and be sure to balance the boat out with more weight towards the belly and bow. Pro X is the way to go, and get a movable brick sac to balance, unless you are one of those people who don't regularly take out only two or three friends so as to get maximum riding time... The 210 isn't a U-Haul, and CC seemingly has no interest in simply stretching that boat out, so get used to the litter of gear with its limited storage or go buy a 220/Two-tweener with its yet to be qualifed wake.

To save space, be sure to hook all your jackets over the ski pylon that is a $400 or so option on new 210s. It's a funny conundrum that CC must face; nobody wants that pylon on a wakeboard boat for any other reason than to hook jackets, yet they don't dare to dumb it down from a structural perspective and at a cheaper cost (!) because the company will surely get drilled by lawyers after someone gets hurt when using it for anything other than a group PFD coat hanger.

I stand down. The expensive jacket hook also serves as a good, second tow point for a photographer/videographer on a tube.

This is a little off subject here, but since we are talking about the under sun deck part of a wakeboard boat, what does anyone think about the 220's/Two-Tweener's above-engine jacket/heater shirt warmer? I kind of like the concept and give credit to CC for being innovative, but am a bit put off by the idea of purposively introducing wet stuff to the engine comartment...seems like the warming tray could somehow leak or spill over on the engine. Also, the new hatch on the Two Tweener didn't impress me as something that was very easy to deposit and remove jackets and ropes/handles.

Water in the bilge, OH NO!

I would have never thought there would be water in the bilge.

If the engine gets damp, so what, worse things can happen.

Now I would not throw a bucket of water on it, but do you think the engine in your car stays dry when driving in the rain?

Water in the bilge is one thing, water dripping or splashing over the engine is another...

I'm probably being too paranoid here, but am still scarred from dealing with my old 2000 SAN, which seemed designed with the express purpose of fascilitating water rushing up the angled transom during very quick stops and then pouring onto the alternator and all the belts in the back in the engine. As we know, CC later steepened the transom, ditched the weasely strap hinges on the one-piece sun deck, and ran a water blocking stainless piano hinge the entire length of the new middle sun deck piece over the engine. Oh, and yes, we sacked that boat out so as to throw a beast wake.

Since I'm dumping on aspects of that boat design, I would be remiss for not pointing out the idiocy of locating the boat's battery under the one piece, hydrolic-lifted sun deck (battery ended lodged up against and nearly covered by a sac and when the battery was weak/dead (think alternator problems from above) you had to completely disassemble the back seat for a spelunking-like removal) and the absolute "brain" dead placement of the boat's computer component (i.e., the so-called $1,000 plus "brain" in CC's parlance) directly under the supposedly water catching lip/trough where the sun deck begins directly behind the back seat.

I'm feeling a hot flash coming on, better stop now...

I think it all boils down to quanity of water.

You just won't get that much from a life jacket or wet suit.

Rhode - after reading your posts regarding the issues surrounding the 2000 SAN's - you almost make me want to take the very generous offer I recently received for my boat. But then again, a new 210 costs what - $65k - and is pretty much the same boat as my 2000 SAN (which is paid for). Granted, your points as to the wacky things CC did with the layout of the boat are right on. Bottom line is, however, the boat puts out a killer wake which can be tuned for just about any level of rider. So, in spite of its shortcomings - I'm keeping it until the offer to buy gets to $60,000 :o)

You can still fit a board and gear with your hard tanks in. I ride a cwb absolute 141 (wide and long) and it fits in the storage. If you mess with it a little you will figure out how to get it in. With that said, I can put a board on each side, jackets, sacs, pumps, ropes etc back there with no problem. Also if you have a bow cover you can put all your gear in the floor of the boat and it won't blow out. Keep the tanks add sacs on top

                          age4ever,

What can I say, I'm a ninny about water in the engine area, seriously. My biggest regret about my new boat is not gettng the optional dripless packing. About the Two-Tweener's "wet" compartment, I say good luck to anyone trying to shoe horn in anything more than one wet suit and one life jacket. That whole Ringling Bros. parade of a feature, tub, trap door and all, must have added $500 to the sales price of that boat. I'm not even sure if it is stock or an option. Does anybody know?

                          Wakefun,

You're right about the 2000's hull throwing a beast wake and that hull not changing one bit in recent years. Also, the bit about the water rushing up the transom can be solved easily by careful driving. No big. Having said that, though, there are a many stupid, chincy or plain out right goofy aspects to the 2000 model year design (props to the company about all the good stuff intro'd that year). But, don't get me started about the air valves for the tanks, flip-out-floor level plastic cup holders, stereo placement,... All that stuff, and the stuff mentioned earlier, got fixed or upgraded in newer model years.

I don't want to drone on here, but will encourage you and anyone else thinking about getting into a newer boat for feature purposes to consider buying JZWake's 2005 SANTE. It's posted for sale on this site and Boat Trader for the very silly and inexpensive price of $47K or so (can't remember). It's loaded, as are all Team Edition boats, and also comes with Nautique tower speakers, docking lights, heater, custom Sunbrella cover, Towerbiminis.com bimini, and galvanized trailer. Oh, the boat only has about 50 or so hours, which we put on it in fresh water only. This boat is a steal and I am at a loss why it has not sold. I don't want to further hijack this thread, but am interested to know why anyone thinks this boat hasn't sold: wintertime, bright yellow color, now older tower and windshield. Like I said, this boat is an out right steal and I think anybody who can get $30K or so for their 2000 SAN is missing an opportunity here. Go read my earlier post in the for sale forum for clues as to this fire sale.
