I don't know....maybe it wasn't a mile, maybe the smoke wasn't billowing and maybe the water wasn't gushing. But maybe the story isn't completely fabricated either. I wouldn't be so quick to judge someone's behavior under these cercumstances - you don't know him or what he's been through. I like to give people the benifit of the doubt, especially when they've been under duress.

Give people the benefit of the doubt? How about give the forum the whole story as opposed to leaving us hanging without conclusion and then we won't need to "judge" them. This is a discussion room concerning our hobbies/passions, whatever you may consider it to be. Therefore, some explination as to what occured, how you managed, how you got back to shore, how is the child, and so forth is warranted...then we won't have to sit here and conjure up our own thoughts. This is a dead horse without some details from the poster themselves......

he/she/it is a new "member" as well. bogus, no details as to what kind of boat. Never used the site before, don't tell me he registered to get that off his chest and said...."well, put the boat in for the first time and it caught fire, the end)I don\'t care.

What cell phone service does he use? I wonder if he found a xyz cellular phone
forum and complained about the no service day on the 1st day with his new correct craft!

He was last online two days ago; maybe he has a life outside PN. Plus, there was some hostility projected his way at the time. I wouldn't be surprised if he never shows up again.
I'm just as curious to find out what happend as the next PN member, but I don't assume his post is a hoax just because he is not as forthcoming as you may want him to be.
Life is short...move on.

You make a legitimate and very mature point, but these beat downs are gonna happen from time to time by the site's membership paTROLL. That is to be expected and newcomers should be prepared to back up their drivel, just like in the world of flesh pressing.
Some of you may recall that Rhode, himself, got immediatley accused of being a troll only half a year ago after joining, and that was understandable given the dirty dishes he was serving about CC. Why, even one of this site's most repected and knowledgable members about CC was so gung-ho at first to beat me down that he dispensed wildly incorrect information about the location of a SAN's/210's one and only drain plug. This member even had his own personal cheering section to tell me that I was wrong because my accuser was a per se expert on this site.
All said, The Reverend One, with his seemingly bogus story, ought to respect the natural skepticism that was expressed on this on-line forum and be more communicative.

Anyone see where "there" went? 10 to 1, if the story is 1/2 accurate, his dealer and/or CC helped out - NO matter whose fault.
That being said, 1)first run of a boat 2)just after winter (presuming the winter "there" ended) = water restriction/frozen for some reason NOT caused by the boat. IMHO, ER

I, for one, am sitting on the edge of my keyboard and can't wait for pictures, names, etc... Should your story pass muster with me, I'm ready to go full on CCC (Correct Craft Cult) masacre with you, James Warren Jones, with the rest of your People's Temple. Bring it on, The Reverend One, purple Kool-Aid and Internet suicide awaits. j/k, J/K, JFK -- no, not John Fitzgerald Kennedy -- just kidding, Just Kidding, JUST F'n Kidding. Now, I am hoping this is just a hoax. Only time will tell...

They're reaction is enlightening?I hate to pass judgement w/out the facts, but let me enlighten you about something...These companies are not foolish, and I'm certain that if they gave you a response you didn't like, it was because they've determined it is something you did wrong. They KNOW that if you call your insurance company to tell them your BRAND NEW boat caught fire due to a defect in the boat, the insurance company will tell you to contact the manufacturer(i.e.covered under warranty, not insurance. If the manufacturer insists your insurance company cover it,the insurance company will then tell you to contact your LAWYER.If it was indeed a defect in the boat your lawyer will make sure they fix it...and CC knows this.I will wait for the facts(and give you the benefit of a doubt)for now,but the whole thing sounds slightly odd to me......I'm still waiting....

therev1, you still seem aufully calm about this, like buying new Nautiques and seeing them catch fire on their first run is fun.... :???: I don't get it.. why are you so happy/calm/gitty? (if 'gitty' is a word)
To me this is one of those, "It's funny if its NOT you" scenarios...I Nautique, therefore I am.

Do you work for CC, or are you just in their CULT?
Wake up and get in the real world, companies are in business to make the $$$$, and limit their liability. Everything is ok as long as there are no problems, but customer service is dead in corporate America today, including CC.
