Sounds like the motor was not getting water. Black smoke means rubber is burning. That rubber is the impeller and the exhaust hoses. Once it gets hot enough, any number of things would happen. Not sure why oil would be all over the place. Perhaps the filter or oil hoses melted.

Well I really don't care if you believe the story or not!!!
If you don't believe it does that mean it didn't happen.
Correct Craft Rep. said the boat's computer should have shut it down, well it didn't! And no the dealer did not take me for a ride it was winter when they delivered the boat. The boat is a 2006 Team Air-every option.

Agreed, the The Reverend One should post some pictures, finger his dealer by name, profess some knowledge about boats, curse CC in such a way and with the outrage of someone who doesn't already have it correctly figured out that such words will eventually get taken down on this site, or whatever it takes to convince this discerning and earnest crowd... Meanwhile, I'll keep kneeling in prayer that this is a hoax.

If this happened to me, and as every member of this site should know, I would call in a nuclear air strike on the new, yet-to-be-online CC plant, just after "renditioning" President McNew out of this country and to some secret prison in a formerly Eastern Bloc country, where I would torture him by playing Boxcar Willy music at high decibel levels 24/6...leaving him one day per week to regret in peace that he was ultimately responsible for burning down my boat and with my son on board.

If it happened to me I wouldn't waste my time on an internet board until everything was taken care of.

I too smell a TROLL. While some folks react differently and more moderately, I would be much more vocal and agitated--not to the point of imposing Boxcar Willy on music on someone though. To the OP, why are you posting? Do you need help or have questions? If you are here to just vent, then vent. You're not doing a very convincing job of the latter. Show us skeptics some pics or give us more facts.

Wow -so many questions? why keep going? at least stop temporarily and check to see if there is something obviously wrong -i.e. loose hose ... Can you see where the smoke is actually coming from? If I were driving a boat and it started smoking or pouring water in I would instantly stop/shut off and try to check things out. Any safety gear on board? fire extinguisher -distress alert- etc... I know it says you were in the middle of the lake - no one else out- but to just keep going seems more dangerous than stopping. I'm also surprised that it kept going that far (1 mile?) if actually on fire /things melting how did it keep running all the way back to the ramp/dock? One of the wildest stories I've ever heard.

I seriously think you guys are wasting your time trying to diagnose his "problems". His first post is some kind of complaint, not the typical "Hi guys I just got a XXX Nautique".

This story reminds me when I put my new boat (with every option) in the water for its first time. No fire just a fun day on the water with my girlfriend. I have added pictures for you skeptics that may not believe me.

You sure roll it large, Hlymons, real large. Better luck next time, though, in getting that grab...and, watch out 'cause your smok'n hot chick seems to be armed with a diving knife at her side.
