Fair price on a older SANTE

So I made an offer on this boat below this weekend and was turned down. Blue book NADA value with trailer and every bell and whistle is 25k. He has it listed at 29k and I offered him 26.5k. Are older SANTE's commanding that much money still. What would you guys pay for this boat?

Judging from the shine and condition of the top deck gelcoat in the photos, that boat looks to be in far better than average condition. Plus right now is prime season for selling a boat. I wouldn't be surprised if it sold closer to summer for $28-29k.

Judging from the Pictures that boat has been very well taken care of. Evidence to that are the showroom floor interior vinyl and engine compartment. It is definitely the time of the season when boats will start pulling a premium. Had you made that offer in December he may have went for it. However, this time of the season starts the bidding wars. I'm showing $26,290 as Average value on NADA. This boat is definitely above average for its age.

Your offer sounds about right. I was looking at a 2006 SANTE to purchase... Until I saw the asking price. He wanted $38K. Still looking as of now.

I agree with the others, the boat will pull that amount of money. He may have it listed for a few months but he can get every bit of 28 if he is patient. That boat is in great condition and it can't go unnoticed that it is a 1 owner boat.
Keep in mind that the more prices for new boats go up, the more the older generations hold their value.

And I also don't ever trust NADA on boats. Just my 2 cents

I use it because that's what my banks use for loan purposes. However, I've found the prices on NADA to be very realistic. Although I never buy at cost! I just got my SANTE for a LOT less than book price. Actually the same model boats now with the upgraded ZR6 motor are listed for 14K-16K more than I bought mine for last fall.

There are about three Super Air Nautiques listed in the For Sale By Owner forum here. All around 20,000. Go check them out. I've always traveled for my boats. All 3 actually. Furthest was three years ago. Traveled from Virginia Beach to Kentucky to buy my Supra....Sometimes the best deals are miles away!

Are you seriously going to pass over $2500 ? If this is a nice boat and you don't have to travel across the planet to get it then buy it .

I'm here in OKC. Want me to take a look at it with you ?

As an owner of a 2004 with far more hours and a condition that no one would call above average or showroom I would hope this boat would draw $28-$29K. Nautiques hold their value, that's just a fact.

My family bought a mint condition 1993 SN in 1996 with 100 hours for 16K. In 2009 we sold it for $9K with 1800 hours in need of some engine work. 13 years and 1700 of hard use for $7K. What a deal!

My point is for the extra $1500 it probably would have cost to have the boat at your dock, it was worth it.

If that boat is as clean in person as it is in the pics, it's worth 29K. Super clean, low hour, one owner boats that are that old, aren't super common. Just look at how he keeps his shop too. That's the kind of guy you want to buy a boat from.

I paid 30k for one in almost as good shape as this one but had 850 hours last April. It was a 5 hour drive away and babied by previous owner. I bought an 03 almost exactly same color combo as that one 4 years ago for 25k and a single axle trailer with around 800 hours on it. I sold it two years later in the same condition for 31k. So basically they are not really losing any value right now as the new ones keep going up by 3-5k every year. That is a pristine boat that you can keep for years and probably still sell for almost what you paid for it. Banks do use NADA but they have wiggle room on that also. Just print out ads for several that are for sale online with asking prices 29-35k and show them the boats are worth more than NADA. The bank will work it out for you. I would jump on that one though if it is as presented in the pictures.

A well taken care of used Nautique will always command top dollar.

If it was not a reverse hull yellow I would pay the extra money. Im okay with a big bird color at a decent price. But it does not sing to me enough at 29k. I have found 06 mastercraft x1 in the same condition with even lower hours for the same price. Im going to check it out today.

I agree with all the above. If this boat is mint,,,,, only if the boat is mint is it worth 28-29. He will get that if he wants to wait. For me it would be a really tough call. The color isn't exactly primo , and the touted stereo upgrade isn't exactly an "upgrade "any longer. It's old technology that was above average back then but below avg now.

Hours are very low . Unfortunately the seller here is in control and it looks like he has pretty decent handle on where it should be. If it's mint it's going to be very difficult to find another "mint" boat in your backyard as gems aren't exactly all over the place. I Could easily live with the yellow if the condition is right.
