HELP! Ordering a new G25, which engine?

Ok, here are some answers for those providing answers...

1) Our location is Tennessee... so no problem with elevation.
2) Generally just family... 4 people... BIG people though... my sons are 6 foot 5 and their GPH is worse than the boat! LOL
3) We are all into wake surfing... due to recurring head injuries Doc says no more wake boarding for me... (ugh) but surfing is really fun and better on 51 year old joints.
4) Not sure if I can get premium fuel, I will have to check...
5) Yes love take off speed, but not imperative... just don't want a dog.
6) Rarely make WOT runs, but our lake is so huge there is a lot of smooth water, so speed can be fun...

Top speed with the 450 vs. 550 and 550 top of line?

We're on Watts Bar lake, beautiful lake... I believe the lakes are attached through the TN river correct?

Well its ordered... went 450. I talked to PCM, even called all the marinas (no 93 octane), and decided to keep it simple. I did think about changing the order to the G23, but decided to stay with the G25 for the extra leg room up front... plus I got a killer deal on the G25, don't want to go back to the negotiating table.

Thanks all for the help... PCM did say octane boost was ok, but if they determined it was not mixed properly and the motor blew, its my dime...

Seeing as how 80% will be surfing speed, and then party barge cruising, I think I'll be well served.

Yes, Chickamauga and Watts Barr are connected via the TN River. Lets meet up after G25 arrives.

Remember that time you were talking to someone and they said "I love this boat (car, truck, motorcycle) but just wish it had less horsepower." Me neither...... Assuming the financial side of it isn't a limiting factor and you plan on keeping the boat for a bit I would go big.

I have the 550 supercharged on my G21 and am very happy with it.

Well, different country different... i would not have bought my G21 with a 550. I pay taxes per hp and unused hp just cost some $ ;-).
