    Sewlong storage cover just arrived

    Showed up last night
    Hopefully the pics come through.
Seems good quality. Definitely covers more than the factory cover and should keep the birds from nesting on the tower every 2 days.

Is it fairly easy to lock down so water won't pool on it and keep wind out of it? I could see that cover taking flight with some wind! It looks pretty easy to put on though. Price range?

I added the upgraded tether clips for connecting to the trailer and cinch strap below the rub rail. Overall cost was $1950, they said shipping is free for PN members. Apparently there is a 10% discount to members in the "off season" though not sure when that is. I ordered mine first part of April. It is raining today so I can better comment on pooling later today.

I can easily see where the tower is under the cover, but it looks like you have something under the cover above the front windshield? Or is that an illusion?

Do you have a picture straight from the side?

Although not "custom" and I'm sure the coverage and quality are not as good as Sewlong's product, Transhield makes something similar for $200 that works brilliantly. I found this on Amazon when I was looking for a cover under which I could leave my Z5 up.

Here's a pic of my Sewlong cover for my 230. Had mine on for a week through a couple of thunderstorms, so far very solid. The cinch strap at the bottom is very tight. They are moving my vents to the rear a little more. I bought mine in the winter and the cost was quite a bit less.

Is that a 210? What size transhield is that? What is it made of, can you use it multiple times? Ive been thinking about making my own over the top cover. Considering I can get the Sunbrella for around $350, I'm having a hard time stomaching $1500-$1800 for one.

It's a 2012 210 with Z5 bimini. Transhield is a proprietary shrink-wrap material that is lined with a soft cloth-like material to protect the boat surfaces. If you google it you can find a lot of information on it. New Nautiques come with a transhield cover on them for transport from the factory to the dealerships and Nautiqueparts sells tower-down transhield covers specifically for the 210 and 230. I used one of the Nautiqueparts covers all last year in the Arizona heat and it held up great and wrapped the entire boat. But I had to put the tower down for it to work. That was fine until I got the Z5. The Z5 is a pain to remove each time so I found this cover that allows me to leave it on. Just like the other one, it is very durable and reusable. I don't put a heat gun or torch to it. I just use it as you see it.

With the draw string pulled tight and the bungees on each loop, it clinches down pretty tightly and keeps the weather out. I bought the 22'-24' cover to ensure that it would cover the swim platform. I have had this cover on the boat for six months and have removed it and replaced it a couple of dozen times.

Here is a pic of the Transhield cover from nautiqueparts...

Jeff88, can you put that cover on by yourself? What's your best guess at the weight? I really like the idea of covering the tower while up to get the slope right for the cover...

The first time I put it on I was by myself and I cussed a lot. Once I learned the little tricks and had my wife help me once it's pretty slick. I get it hooked over the bow and then put it up on the Bimini to rest and from there and then just grab on each side of the Bimini and walk towards the rear and it slides up and over the tower. From there just hook it over the swim platform (there's enough slack in the cover to stand on it while you hook it). I jump off to the dock and pull the cinch strap really tight and any slack comes out and it fits pretty tight. It weighs about 35 lbs total, has reinforcement over Bimini and tower pressure points. Pretty happy so far.

Does that cover come with the loops and drawstring in it already? Beats the heck out of paying $500 every year to have mine shrink wrapped!!!!

I purchased one of the Transhield covers recommended by scarbs (on Amazon) for my 2009 SANTE 210 w/z5 and it fits great! Thanks for the suggestion!
