Surf Setting on 2015 G21

Hello,

Went out for the first real time on my new G21. Love the boat thus far... But the goofy side wave is better than the regular side (and my kids and I all surf regular). Using stock ballast full, NSS fully deployed and NCRS at 3. Played w speed between 11 and 11.5. Thoughts?

I am thinking about adding some weight to offset the driver and prop wash. 400lbs in the rear corner and 400 up front to lengthen? Other ideas? I don't really want to plumb in ballast and lose my storage but considering that vs lead (and i don't want to have the conversation about lead sinking the boat)

Drain the starboard tank to about 2/3 full and put a 400 sac up front and i bet that will help a bunch.

We are running into the same thing on a 14 G21. What about the settings on the NSS AND NCRS? we were at fully deployed and played with NCRS on all settings. Is is better to leave that on auto? Do you need pro ballast option to get a kickin port wave?

Scooter....I believe "Auto" NCRS does not apply to speeds below 13mph...or surf speeds. The "Auto" feature for NCRS helps the boat to plane and level at speeds above a designated speed which I believe is 13 and above. You can move the NCRS setting from 0 to 5 while surfing...but it is manual by pushing the button...no Auto movement. Make sense? Same with the NSS...you have to push the button to move. I'm running full ballast most of the time in my 15 G21.....NSS fully deployed (0) and NCRS 4-5 and have a decent Port side wake. We all surf it fine with no extra ballast. Speed is a bit fast....11.5....11.7. I'm trying to get the wave a bit longer....someone mentioned running 3/4 in the rears to lift (lighten) the back of the boat a bit to lengthen out the wave. I'll give it a try next time out.

When we surf on our 2015 G21 my group is all mostly regular side surfers. When we surf we have the boat full except the starboard be drain a little usually have it at like 6/7 or more depending on the way the wake looks. But we also have about 500lb's of lead through out the Boat. But we run 3 on the NCRS and 2 on NSS. And that gives a Decent surf wake!

Kenv yes that makes sense and we have been adjusting it manually on all setting to see what works best. And yes we can like you and jordan get a "decent" wave key word being decent. My question is what do we need to do to get the port wave mackin? Would really like to get the wave longer most importantly. The size is there.. Shape is ok, the wave is a lot shorter than we both thought it would be. And would really like to hear your guys best set up for a port wave on 13-15 G21
We don't mind adding ballast or lead just looking the best place to add it.

Yeah Scooter...I'm with you...I would like to see my wave a bit longer like I mentioned above. My Port wake is "Decent"...but it sure is short. Doesn't seem to give much surface to move around like some other waves I've seen. I have not experimented with any additional weight. Let me see if I can find a pic or two.

Thanks kenv yeah that not bad at all. And that looks about like what we are getting. I think I'm going to put some weight up in the front and see if that helps lengthen the pocket.

What are the issues with the Regular wave? Is it a short pocket? Is the wave lacking push? I'm curious what you are seeing as I am demoing a 2015 G21 later this week and am currently coming from a 2016 Axis T22. I know the fit and finish will not compare and I really want to be part of the Nautique family. Ultimately though, the wave does matter and I want to make sure that I'm not going to have to add a bunch of weight to get a wave similar to what I currently have. This will not help my cause with my bride. Not trying to hijack the thread and apologize in advance if that is what is assumed.

It's not bad, that's for sure. But it's not as good (yet) as when I did my demo. It was so good on the demo that I sold my Tige z1 over the winter. The wave is good, but I shelled out the cash for great. Will let people know what happens w 800 lbs of lead.

Full stock ballast, 11.1 mph, NCRS 3, 1 person in boat and 400lbs of lead on port side mid ship.
Adding a 750lb bag to the cockpit creates a really nice wave but 95% of the time I use stock ballast only.

And no extra weight up front at all?
