We would buy a G21 again. We came from a 220 and love the G21

We have really enjoyed the G21. As for surf we changed it up some this year. To cleanup surf and really lengthen the surf wake setup below.
NSS 0-2 NCRS 0-3 speed 12.2. Full rear ballast 300lbs lead port side rear corner. 50 ballast front 4 adults 2kids distributed. It was consistent and the hole up front in the pocket clears up. The speed knocks down the height just a bit but with the extra people it's no a big deal.

I'd definitely consider the G21 again. We had a 2017 210 again this year which really works well for our budget and resale but the G21 boat and the wave make it very tempting to go back into next spring. The 210 wave is great but the G21 is even better.

Man I really wish I would have found this thread before I winterized my G21. I am coming from a G23 to a G21 and I'm super stoked for spring now!
So F725 , do you feel that lead in the port locker is at all beneficial? What does it add? 5%? I am thinking of just running 100% port; 75% starboard and zero belly at 3,3 and 11.1.

I had a 2016 G23. I got this G21 for about 50k cheaper and in near mint condition. So 50k less for what I consider to be 90% of the boat or more.
There are insane deals on used or leftover G21s

DocPhil that sounds right. Its been a year since I've had the G21 but I rarely used belly weight. I'd only add some to the belly if I had more than 6 people behind the driver. Even then, maybe 1/4 belly was all that I'd put in. 3/3 for the NSS and NCRS sounds right but that just depends on the wave shape you're looking for. Some guys like 0/0 so...

DocPhil 50% belly ballast is what we have been doing. The additional ballast in the belly has a lot to do with the amount of people that sit in the back when we surf. If your people ballast is less I would lower the belly ballast. Lowering the belly ballast get you a steeper bigger wave IMO.
