Installed Seadek in my 1998 Super Sport. Thanks to Jared for doing it to his 1999 SAN and for all the info and pictures he posted.

I followed what Jared/Scarbs did here:
http://www.planetnautique.com/vb5/fo...ll-on-1999-san
With a few differences. I only used a gallon of the monstaliner and only painted those surfaces that are visible. I did prime the entire floor.
So the floor and seat bases were painted with monstaliner tinted to match the gel coat. I used bull dog spray to prep the plastic seat bases for better adhesion. I first removed the carpet and glue from everything. I didn't use a chemical stripper to remove the glue. I just used my thumb and rubbed it off. That seemed to work best for me. It was a bit tedious. Without all the carpet the floor pieces were loose, so I added HDPE to the belly lid and to the main floor opening to square then off. I then used bondo to fill some of the cracks. You can see the strip of HDPE in the picture where the floor is primed on the bottom of the belly lid. That white strip was added after I primed the floor as I took it off and put it back on a few times to get the lid to fit like I wanted. You can see the gaps around the main floor piece in the picture where it is just exposed fiberglass. And then compare it to the photo where the floor was primed after adding strips of HDPE, bondo, sanding it and then priming it.
In the finished photo you can see the a bit of the seat bases that now match the gel coat color. They are not perfect and could use another coat but I had my boat outside for this final part of the project and was hurrying fearing rain. It will be good enough for this season. Maybe next winter I will add another coat of the monstaliner to the seat bottoms and seat lids. I also used rubber grommets under some of the seat cushions to elevate back to where the seats were with the carpet. This helps keep the seats in place better as well. The single layer of carpet took up 1/4 inch, so two layers took up roughly 1/2 inch. So I made up for that in different ways as needed. You can see how out of square the opening for the main floor piece is in the bare fiberglass photo. I essentially custom fit HDPE pieces to fill the area and make it square to the main floor lid. The main floor lid was actually quite square. I did this by running a belt sander upside down and moving the HDPE around to make the HDPE piece match the shape of the floor opening. Then I screwed all the HDPE peices to the opening. Once everything fit how I liked, I epoxied them all and screw them back in. I then used bondo to fill any remaining gaps and to smooth it all down. It is not perfect but I'm happy with how it turned out.
Scarbs left more of a gap in between his Seadek pieces and I think that looks better in general. The problem I had with this is that the floor still have some imperfections and so I chose to cover up as much of the floor as possible. It is not perfect but I am happy with how is turned out.

Well this brings back memories...both good (the final product) and bad (the tedium of scraping glue and prepping the floor). But all worth it in my opinion.
It looks fantastic! Very nicely done!
Please post more pictures so we can fully appreciate it.2017 G23

Thanks guys. The memories of the horror of this project are a little too fresh for me. Hopefully I will forget the work and just enjoy the end product. Thanks again Jared for blazing the trail. I would never of attempted this project if it wasn't for your posts. So I thank you... and I blame you. And I owe you a beer. I will take some more pics the next time I take the cover off and hopefully head to the lake for the first time. And then post them up.

Thanks. The SeaDek was around $1250. The old carpet was the only thing in my boat that looked 18 years old. Now with the SeaDek it feels like a new boat. You can start with my template for your 97 SS. CRC-21647-80093. SeaDek can send you a dry fit for $10. You can mark up your changes on it and send it back and they will then create a new CRC for your boat. I started with Jared's 99 SAN template and had a couple of sets of changes before I was comfortable with the fit. Good luck.
