    Shipping a boat info...help

Thinking about shipping possibly a G23 on trailer from west coast to Tennessee. Any idea on $$$? Also ...any recommended shipping companies?

    Thanks,

    Andy

Ive shipped a few boats.Usually just use uship ranges from 1200-2000.Ive had one shipped from Florida to Washington one from Alabama to Washington. That said the next boat I buy ill spend the money to fly out and lay my own eyes on it before I buy. Both times I wasn't all that happy with the deals.

I was going to ship but worked a deal out with the seller. I would definitely fly out first. Everyone's ideas are different and my idea of perfect was different then the sellers. Close to a deal breaker. I will not do that again.

I just bought my new boat in MN, the total was just over $2100 to ship it from Minneapolis to Reno. I was hoping to find someone that would put it on a flat bed, but all of the uShip bids were tow-and-go. You can try your local dealer and see who they use for shipping, but mine just told me to check uShip... FYI, uShip keeps ~15% of the total from the trucker and $100 from the shipper and they assume none of the risk. I still have the contact info of the guy who delivered my boat, PM me if you want it.

Andy, I used Uship to ship a 210 from California to Bristol, TN and it was $1200 back when gas was $3.50 a gallon. Worked out pretty well I thought. Did you sell your 210?

I arranged shipping for a nautique from Oregon to Indiana. We were able to get enclosed transport for $1700. That was in 2011.

I found Uship was really easy when I anticipated shipping my boat. Most quotes were about a dollar a mile. If you are patient, you will find someone who has a haul planned from Tennessee to the west and would really like to maximize their return trip by picking up something here. My first bids were a little over a dollar a mile, then several private messages popped up inquiring about when I could do it. Just guys trying to find the right round trip.

I would probably try to find a Planet Nautique guy who is local to where you are buying and see if they would lay eyes on the boat, maybe even while talking to you on the phone. Someone would probably be willing to do that for the price of a case of their favorite beverage.

I think with a barely used boat, it could not be in all that bad of shape compared to several year old boats. Las Vegas is only 2 hours away, if you did decide to fly out, you could at least take in a show and see some of the sights, even if you left empty handed.

last year i shipped my maxum 2400 from Fl to CA, first i want to make it by sea but my engine broke down, and i have to ship it on trailer, actually it's big boat so i think that it will cost me a new boat, but Tomas from Movewheels find me a cheap driver, so it cost 1.5$ per mile but other give me a 2$ per mile
