    Another 211 Ballast Question

I know that there has been posts in the past about this, but I want to know how things have progressed since then. I would like to get the most out of my 211's wake for wakeboarding. What is everybody doing right now for weight distribution on the 211?

    SV 211 wake

I have found that if i fill the rear tanks all the way and the front tanks 2/3 and use the gate in the #3 wakeboard position my wake has a nice lip. If i fill all tanks all the way the lip rounds out at the top and i dont get as much pop. Rear tanks can be adjusted accordind to amount of people you have in the boat. try the first suggestion with the front take only 2/3 and drive like that and then fill it all the way up and you will see the difference. Hope this helps.

      RE: SV 211 wake

Bigk - Full back and a little over half in the middle worked good. That being said I want to see what it does with more weight. The weather hasn't been good enough to go out and mess with lead to see how much and where to put it. Once I know how much, I'll replace it with extra bags. I'll post some pics of the wake once we get out.

Until then has anyone added more weight, how much and where? A starting point would be nice when I go out. opinions on more weight?

      Sorry for the highjack Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

No Worries Noti_Dad, this is what I want, input from others about weight.

        Here's what I have ran:

750 Lbs. Fat Sac Running Lengthwise from back transom forward
        All ballast tanks full
        1 driver, 2 passengers on front loveseat/jumpseat
        Hydrogate in #3 Wakeboard

If only driver is in boat, I add 250 Lbs. sack in bow.

The wake is really mellow, but it will boot you for sure. It almost doesn't look that much different from the stock ballast wake, but it is for sure more meaty.

Loaded up it seems pretty good to me, but I figured I would find out what others are doing.

I ski and wakeboard with my 211, it has about 160 hours on it now. I have tried lots of different things including lead and an additional 500lb ballast bag in a few different places. I keep coming back to the setup that Schersound describes. I run this at 23-24mph/75-80feet out, depending on the boat crew. Kudo's to Correct Craft, I think they really got it right when they designed the 211 hull. You might be able to make it a bit bigger but you should probably work on your wakeboarding technique instead. If you learn to do a little Ollie at the lip of the wake with a tight line you can really fly. I can get more air than my old body can take off my wake. Here is a picture of a buddy taken behind my 211 at 25mph, he rides fast, the wake here is quite a bit smaller than it is at 23mph.

If you want to ride faster on harder water then you could probably throw about 200lbs of lead in front of each rear tank, but that would kill the slalom wake so I won't do it, it will also hurt the boat's handling. If you are only into boarding and like a hard wake then go for it. I hate pictures of wakes but I figured these show something critical - line length vs. speed. To get the max out of your wake adjust you line length so you are just in front of the curl. Also the 211 is super sensitive to side to side weight differences, as a rider I look at the wake everytime I get up then I start yelling and pointing people to move in the boat until it's riding flat. Yes, I am picky and yes, I drive the boat crew nuts, but I pay for the gas and provide the boat so they put up with me. Too many years of competition skiing, some habits just seem to hang on...

              Milski,

25 mph and stock ballast? Wow, that does look really good! Like I said earlier, the stock wake looks almost the same as the wake when fully loaded. Interesting...

MikeSki.. I agree with your opinions on the 211 and getting the technique down before adding all the lead. I have the same conversation with my little brother. Of course, like you, I still want to be able to ski and my daughter and brother want to wakeboard.. so, no lead in my boat!

PS.. and yes, I own the boat and put in the gas.. so I also can be a pain in the A$@ about moving people around and being picky.. they know it, and deal with it too! LOL!

I'm with all on the no lead as we will be skiing behind it and there isn't anywhere to dump lead when you're in the middle of the lake. Was planning on adding additional sacs over the stock tanks (500lbs total), completely fill the belly and possibly add a couple lead bars (hoping they won't mess up the ski wake being forward). Thanks for the advice and opinions on what weight does to the wake.

I did like the stock wake on the test ride I took last Summer. Since the weather and business hasn't cooperated yet I haven't had a chance to ride only break in the engine. Now that we're ready I don't want to waste too much time fiddling.

Guess they did it right like the 210. I don't like alot of extra over stock on that wake. Hopefully it's the same on the 211 and I can save the 'extras cost' for something else.
