Is the water saying below the NSS plate? What would happen if you went full stock all around, and put one about 800 in the bow

These boats don't react to bow weight the same way say a Malibu would. It doesn't gain you much after the 300# mark. The water was above the plate, this weight the platform is about 3inches under water.

Any idea why that is true for the G series with regards to the bow weight? Is that maybe why you bumped up the speed to 12, given that increasing speed has similar effect to bow weight (lengthening pocket while decreasing height). Just asking in order to learn, having moved from a 23lsv that was slammed to a G23.

I went surfing last night, and had all stock tanks full and five people in the boat. While surfing goofy footed I moved three people to the bow, and put one person in the port side to balance the driver. I surfed NCRS at 5 and NSS at 0, and the wave was really nice. I could get deep in the pocket, and have great power.

In two weeks we are taking a boat trip the lake cumberland with 16 people, so I should be able to get great feedback on how these boats like the weight. The comp boats you see in the water are slammed. I have heard they have 1,000 pounds of lead in them plus factory tanks. However I have not been able to find anything about the set up's on the NET, I am sure they do not want that info out for several reasons.

Adding bow weight only increases height and steepness of the wave. Speed is what determines pocket length. The increased speed I found helps with board control though and you don't lose any push in the wave, its a meaty wave for sure.

My boat as over 1000# above stock as stated. They love the weight. As much as the motor you have can push, it will push it no problem. I have yet top hear of too much weight in a G.

The factory default is too slow. If you have only factory weight try bumping up to 11.4-11.5 the wave is much better.

Interesting. I always thought it was the opposite. More weight in the back of the boat sinks the rear and creates a taller wave with a shorter pocket. Adding bow weight or speeding up drops the nose, flattens the attitude of the boat, and creates a shorter wave with a longer pocket. I'll have to experiment now! I have additional 1100lb bags for each rear locker and a 1000lb bag for the nose. Will try it out once it stops raining so dang much!

I was referring directly to the G series hull. On the Malibu hulls bow weight increases pocket length for sure. What year and motor G do you have euro2012 ?

2015 550. That is definitely my Malibu knowledge shining through! Was wondering why/how it would be different for the G. Thanks!

Your boat will be able to push this weight easily then. When you get a chance try these settings as a starting point I promise it won't disappoint, 1100# bag filled in each locker, fill surf side rear ballast, fill factory belly ballast, fill bow bag half full (if on top the seats). NCRS 5 and NSS at 2, 12.0mph. Doesn't much matter about your crew size with a 550. Also one note I'm not sure if the engine dividers have changed on the '15 but I had to reinforce mine in order for them not to pop out with the 1100's full.

I will definitely give that a go Nolan, cheers! Yes, the dividers seem very beefy, I cannot see them popping out like they did in my lsv. Just to confirm, no ballast in non surf side rear ballast? Could you fill all ballast and just fill an 1100 in surf side rear locker as a close approximation?

You also may be able to scoop up a bunch of lead from your friendly indoor firing range. Then poison yourself by melting it down. Do it outside. A lead brick that is a little over an inch tall, and 12 X 8 inches also weighs about 50 pounds.
Thanks. I'll try there and some tire shops.
