Flipping G23 board racks

Have most of you flipped your board racks to provide more clearance between factory speakers and boards? What are the pros and cons of doing this? I removed the small emblem to excess the hardware the other day and flipped them, but have not tried them on the water.

I did this on my 2015. I am not sure it will be necessary on the 2016. They changed the swivel racks and they do not come in as far as the 15 does. I did it just in case I was going to put another pair of speakers, but decided one was enough.
