I just purchased a 2014 230 SAN and it has the Z5 bimini. I originally didn't want the Z5, but it is slooowly growing on me. (Especially since the canopy on my lift allows me to leave the tower up) My question is in regards to storing wake-surf boards on the bimini. There are the bungee cords on the front cross member for the nose of the board and I found in the binimi side pockets some longer straps that reach around the board, but they don't want to stay tight and are a pain to reach. Has anyone come up with better ways to secure boards on the Z5 bimini? Don't want the boards to come/slide off when towing or cruising across the lake.

I have a 2009 230 with the Z5 and it is great for storing boards there are a few things you can do. One thing I did was to add a aluminum bar ( exactly the same as stock bar ) to the front of the Z5 then used bungee as seen below to hold down the boards. The reason i didn't use the back bar was i have 4 Wet Sounds Rev 10's and there wasn't room.
Another option:- There is some pictures on the forum of someone else who brought the Z5 to a upholstery shop who added a large pocket sewed in that holds boards, they used the same sunbrella fabric as well.
Actually i am in the process of changing my setup and upgrading the pads on my Z5 with the FCS Sup Premium pads which are bigger and are about 28 inches each ( running 2 side by side ).
The Z5 bars can be used and come with pads over them which are not that thick. now if not you can buy some of these.

Older Picture on Tahoe that shows a board being stored you can store up 4 boards with the setup.

I used Heavy Duty Bungee 1/2 inch ( regular bungee is useless tried about 5 kinds until finding this one ).

Then used 1 inch webbing over it as well it covers the hose clamps.

I found those shock-dock lines and doubled one up to use as a super bungee across the Z5 and I can stack 3 surf boards easy. Very functional accessory, when we're hanging out I put towels up there to dry in the sun, or throw tow lines up there to dry before stowing them away. I use the spinner racks for WB storage.2010 Super Air Nautique 210 Team Edition
