    Surf behind a SN?

I am still a diehard competition slalom skier, but I am trying some new things. I learned to surf last year behind a big Supra wakeboard boat. It was much more fun than I thought!! Now I have the bug.

Do you think it is possible to get a wave big enough behind my 2003 SN Limited? Fat Sacs - how many, what size, where would you put them?

Also, can you put a fat sac in the 'ski locker' on the back of a SN?

edit: I read some posts about surfing behind a 206, just want to see if anyone has done it behind a 196.

    RE: Surf behind a SN?

As much weight on the Starboard side as you can possibly muster (especially in the back starboard corner.) You can surf behind any inboard really, it's just a matter of how fun it will be. It's not going to really compare to a larger V-drive wake. But it should be decent.

Lead would be a good way to do it, but since you are a skier, you're probably not going to taking the weight in and out of the boat. I would recomend the Pro-X series sacs with the Tsunami pumps.

For the side of the motor
For the trunk putting it as far to the starboard side as possible.
    How about \"Chales\"?

      Dave,
I have a 206 and I tried several times last summer with little success. I'm sure it can be done, you just need a alot of weight along with the correct placement...I obviously didn't quite figure that out!
I agreee with Dragon get the Pro-X series sacs, they have about 8 to choose from...and the Tsunami pump is very fast!

The new hyperlite LandLock surfboard is made way thicker, more like a real surfboard for this reason. I tried everything behind my 92 Barefoot. Almost zero success.... no matter what weight, where it was, etc.... Supposedly, this new board makes it way easier on small wakes. I couldn't wait, I bought a Super Air.....

i surf behind a 2004 211 and i found putting weight on the side of the boat the person rides on mostly helps a lot more. for example i ride regular and i usually hang out on the starboard side. my girlfriend rides goofy and she rides the port side. so when i ride we fill the starboard tank and get everyone to that side of the boat. when she rides we dump the starboard tank and fill the port one. i also found that the way ur prop spins has an effect on the way the wake is shaped.

The prop and driver are the reasons that the starboard side of the boat will toss up the best wake to be surfed. In a small direct drive it is going to be especially necessary to use the advantage of the drivers weight to enhance the wake.

Otherwise you're going to have to add 300-400 lbs to not only counteract the drivers weight but then to also add back the drivers weight to the port side.
