    G21 Questions

    Some Q's:

    1) Total length on trailer with platform collapsed and trailer tongue folded in?
    2) Total height with tower folded down?
    3) Any need for extra ballast for surfing?
    4) The boat in question is a 2014 with the 550hp engine. What is the make of engine? PCM? Is it supercharged? Tranny diff ratio?
    5) Low speed wakeboard wake? Is it clean at 16-17 mph?

    3) it's drug able with stock, more is always better though. 21 is better than 23 stock though. 4) engine made by pcm and I believe it's 1.56:1. 5) my g23 is clean to 18 so 21 may be possible

Thanks. Is engine naturally aspirated or supercharged?

        The 550 is supercharged.

I saw your question about the 550 on another thread but I'll just answer here. The 550 is awesome. It's pretty thirsty but it's got all the power you could ask for. There's a good thread here somewhere about switching props to an OJ 16x16 to see some fuel savings. I just ordered mine so I'll report back when I get it.

As far as extra weight goes I don't think you need any unless you're a pro level wakeboarder. I've got all the basic inverts and spins and it's the best wake I've ever ridden. We don't surf much so I can't say much for the surf wave other than it has one. If I remember correctly the wakeboard wake cleans up right at about 18. I'm headed out this afternoon so I'll have a better look.

I assume you're looking at the Blue G21 on kijiji? Looks like a very nice boat at at decent price.

If for some reason you can't demo that boat I'm just down in Medicine Hat and I'd gladly take you for a set on mine. It's pretty much identical to that one other than color.

              5) clean at 18,5. At lower you can get one side if moving some people around

I guess I should've put my post here...

                G21 Set up

Well we migrated from our loved 210's and into a 2015 G21. 450 hp with all the options, even a metal flake tower!

I've been working on the surf wave... Talking with one of Nautiques pro wakesurfers, he said that he runs rear ballast full (maybe a little less on starboard) and no belly weight.

We tried this last night and the wave was pretty good. Tall and fairly long and clean. with NCRS at 3, NSS at 2 or 3, speed at 11.1.

I see that some are adding additional ballast... is this worth the effort?

Here are some pics of the wave with just the rear ballast full.

F725 - I am playing w all sorts of things right now. I have 720 lbs of lead I am moving around and I have two 850 lb bags that I don't have in the boat yet (just got them yesterday). I plan to test out a lot of different options. Best wave I have gotten is full everywhere, 400 lbs of lead in port locker with the rest up front. See pic attached. Rider is 6'2. Keep me posted as to what you find.

Also, what lake in Minnesota are you on? We have our place on Medicine so if you ever want to try out different configurations w my lead and ballast, you are welcome to do it!

F725...just curious...did you try the NSS at 0? Just to try the difference? My wake gets worse when I bump the NSS up to 2 or 3...which is bringing the plate in....

Mlsurfco, wave looks good. I'll experiment with more ballast as time goes on.

Kenv, we did try most combinations with these ballast settings. 0 made the wave too flat for my liking but...
