    Anyone traded a new (14+) 210 for a G21?

I am happy with our 210. It does everything we need it to. My wife and I surf, the kids wakeboard and surf.
Having said that, I have been looking at the G21.
From what I have read, it seems that the G21 is a great boat.
But my real question is, is it worth roughly 25K to upgrade?
Just curious if anyone has made this switch and if they could do it again would you?
I have 150 hrs on my 210 at the moment and its not quite 2 yrs old. My sales rep said if I plan to trade or sale it, I should do it soon.
I know this is a tricky question because everyone is different, but just curious if anyone went thru this and regrets the upgrade.
I have no reason to trade my boat for a new 210, so I will either upgrade to a G21 or just keep what I have for the long haul.

I have been in 210s but only own a G21. From my opinion, everyone has one, the space and the tall freeboard make the price difference worths it.

I haven't done that trade, but will offer some advice/devil's advocate... While you will gain some added storage space I don't think there will be a great deal of "people" space, but if it's only your family on the boat most of the time and you are comfortable in the 210 the G21 will be at least as spacious so it should be a non-issue. A bigger factor to think about is boat storage... You will be moving to a heavier and taller boat with the G. If you keep the 210 in a standard garage, boat house lift, and don't have a vehicle that will properly carry the added load then there is that added expense to think about as well. You $25K upgrade could run well above that depending on your circumstances.

Not that I'm trying to persuade you to not move up, but I've looked at it myself... I'd have to buy a new truck, build or rent a larger storage garage, and have a much larger fuel bill to move up to the G-series. Considering my boat and truck are paid for and do everything I need them to do just fine it doesn't make good sense for me. If I'm really hurting for a G wake I just hop aboard on of my friend's boat for a day to quench that need.

        Core-Rider pretty much nailed it.

Based purely on wake performance, you definitely get a better surf and wakeboard wake with the G21. is it a 25 k difference and will it blow you r mind? Debateable, but its definitely better. The surf wake has more push and amplitude. The wakeboard wake has more kick at the top. Buddy who is a hardcore surfer traded his 14 for the G21 as soon as he test drove it.

Core-Rider has a very good feedback about the additional costs. You actual price difference will be higher than the purchase price difference.

I've been wondering the same thing as Austin. Is the up grade really worth it. Towing and storing a boat is a reality for me which is why I've completely written a G23 off. I'm torn between a 230 and G21 or should I just stick with a 210.

If the G23 is written off then you may as well write off the G21 as well. You're only talking 1.5' (23' compared to 21.6') difference in length and 500# (5500 compared to 5900) dry weight! The 230 on the other hand is 23' 1.5" and 4650# dry. That huge when talking tow rig weight!

                Thanks for the feedback.
The truck and storage will not be an issue for me and I am not to worried about the added fuel cost.
I am however, terrified of making the trade only to find that my time on the water is no more enjoyable and im out 25K!
I know the G21 will be worth more on the backend so its not a total loss, but im not to excited about the upfront investment unless it is a huge difference.
I plan to demo the G21 soon and hope that will help me know for sure.

The G21 for my family made the difference. There is not much more if any more seating space than your current boat however if you pack up your boat like my family the storage space is where the difference is. We had 7 adults and 2 kids in the boat on Memorial Day weekend and I did not feel cramped. It was nice not having gear or coolers all over the floor as well. The storage space is what allows me to wakeboard/surf like normal when I am with the family as opposed have to re-balance the boat or remove things from the rear compartments so the sacks can fill all the way.

We also are on big lake that gets windy in the open so the added size was something we wanted. Driving the boat loaded is really impressive make sure you drive some double ups fully loaded.

I will say the surf wake will take a bit of dialing in on the G21 but it can be done. The wakeboard wake is great but you will need to balance the boat from left to right just a bit to account for prop torque.

For the most part, we have no more than 4 adults and 2 kids on the boat.
Because my wife and I both ride and so do both of my kids we tend to go out with just the family.
I invite a couple of friends now and again, but maybe 10% of the time.
With that being said, I am not looking to gain seating or storage. I mean it would be nice, but my final decision is going to be based on the surf wave.

ID:	489140 I went from a 2010 226 to a 2015 G21 without even a test drive. At first, when my kids saw it, they didn't like the "Hard floor"....didn't really like the interior as much as the 226. After two months on the water last summer, they were SOLD so much on how bad A$$ the G21 is....I will never not have a G as long as my kids are with me. (age 11 and 15 now). So far...Core has added the best advice...but you say garage, truck, weight will not be a factor.....which works in your favor...but you will be $25K poorer now....LOL. If you think your 210 a great boat...which it is.....the G21 adds an extra "great"...making it a great great boat in my opinion. To me, coming from my 226...the WIDTH is one thing that really makes moving around in the boat better. Little kids usually ride up front so that is basically the same. The quietness, the FAE, the ease of surfing and many more things make this boat so nice. If I were you, don't lose too much sleep over it....but get the G...get the....G!!!!

I have a feeling that when we test drive the G21 and my wife and kids play in it, the momentum will be hard to stop.
The good news is we are not in a hurry, so I will make sure the deal is right...

DO IT. Loving my G23 and having no buyers remorse. My upgrade was from a 2008 Malibu Sunscape to 2016 G23. Huge difference.

                              I went from a 2012 210 to 15' G21 to 16' G23.
The 210 and G21 are not even comparable boats, there is that much of a difference. Towing and storage were not an issue for me so I can not comment on that, I also don't put enough hours on the boats to make a difference in fuel cost. I think the G boats handle and perform as well as the 210's and should not be a concern. I had 1100's in my 210 with belly ballast as well and the surf wave is so much better in the G and quicker to set up.
