    Another G23 surf weighting thread

    Two parts

    Part I:
I have a 2014 G23 and I have added the plumbed in additional ballast from fat sac. I think it's like 500 under bow seats and 450 in each locker

I do not want to remove my hard tanks and replace with a large sac. What are everyone's thoughts on throwing 750s in each locker and adding 450s under each storage area under the side seating area.

    Part II
What is the best set up including weight and NSS settings to get the biggest wave with most push out of these boats. I'm 230 and need the extra push

Try filling everything you have currently with ncrs at 5, nss at 2 and like 11.8mph. Should be a pretty decent wave.

My personnel setup is 1100# in each locker, stock rear full on the surf side, stock belly full and 300#'s lead in the bow. ncrs at 5, nss at 0-2 and 11.8-12.0 mph.

Thanks for the input nohlan_4. When you say you have 1100# in each locker is that in place of the stock tanks or do you have sacs in addition to the stock tanks. If so, what size and brand?

Also, do you have the boat listed?

I don't have a G, but nohlan described a similar weight distribution, NSS, and speed setting I use on my 14 230. I found my boat likes stern weight way more than bow weight, bow weight is sensitive and will steal push quickly, but you still need a balance.

I find if I have a lot of people in the boat, most obviously don't sit on the bow, the wave gets really steep without a little surf side bias, if I know the rider and what they like, I will simply dial down the NSS, the list helps offset steepness on my 230, counter lean = steeper wake.

The G does not have hard tanks, and the bags are custom sized to fit in the caverns under the floor. With 750s in the rear and those 450s under midship seats (they only fill to about 350 before you start pushing the seats up), you should be pretty well set.
