G series flip up seat issue

Have any of you G owners noticed a split or crack in the vinyl like I have in the attached pic? Behind the vinyl, around the corner of the cushion, you can feel a hard plastic backing. The problem is when this seat is down, and you open and close the observer seat, the observer seat pushes hard against the side wall of this flip seat and is making the vinyl fail at the edge of the plastic backing. I have heard getting vinyl replaced from CC is much more of a time consuming process than it used to be... anyone had any experience recently with failing vinyl?
