    Tubers

Let me start by saying I pull kids in tubes .... but we use a bigger, windy part of the lake. Why do wakeboard boat owners pull tubes in circles in an area of the lake known for wakeboarding? They have to ride there too! Everyone can use the lake. Just seems there would be common understanding.

I second these comments. Agravates the fool out of me. If you want choppy water, there is plenty to be found. Flat water, much tougher to come by.

With the latest wakesurf craze I find the same wakeboarders that bitch about wave runners and tubers in the ski cove see no problem with loading up and surfing down the entire cove. I guess if you use a wakeboat to tear it up its OK?

I pull a tube with young kids a good bit too, but stay away from ski/wakeboard/wake surf coves. I think it's just common courtesy.

I would have to agree with this. Should be common sense

Have to say I second the comments about surfers. We also move to a larger part of the lake. Flat water for wakeboarders and skiers. Big water for tubers and surfers. Besides, makes the waterfront owners and boats at anchor happier!

I agree with you on this as well. To me, surfing can be done in much more open water as well. Skiers need the best water. I just wish there was common courtesy for all the activities. I don't run up on kayakers or anyone else trying to enjoy calmer waters.

You bring up something that we've been discussing in our area and with some dealer guys. Coustesy or ethics. Heck call it whatever you want but from the ramp to unload all the way back to loading up people who are not boaters do the most ridiciulous thing and dealers should offer a class to go over these things. Once most people are told power turns mess up the water for everyone they usually stop doing power turns. We had a situation the other night when I had my son and 6 of his buddies out teaching some of them to surf. Well this knucklehead also surfing keeps getting closer with each pass and finally decides he's gonna make a loop around me while I had a young kid in the water. Yep you can imagine the little guy trying to figure out to get comfortable on a board with surf rollers headed in. Well I lost it and loaded the boys up and very aggressively approached his boat to the point where he had to shut down. I was pissed to say the least. After a few choice words between the rider and his other drunk buddies he decided to go to another spot just down the way where he had great water and my boys friends learn how to surf. My point is that most people I don't think know better or just don't think about it and when they have been explained wether that be listening to a friend or threatened by a crazy dad to do enough loops around him to sink his Malibu that they will learn and likely not do it again.
Dealers should offer a class or even a manual. Heck we should come up with it and get it to local dealers to hand out! It wouldn't take much. Maybe the top 10 dos and don't dos for boat ownership????

So true! This happened yesterday. We were anchored way at the back of a cove and some a55 hat in a moomba was surfing literally around us as I'm gearing up to wakeboard.

Toobers drive me bananas. Some grandpa in a pontoon will blast in an s pattern all across the lake and then into a calm cove as your wakeboarding

I agree. Again I pull young kids on a tube often, but I also understand that a smooth water cove is somewhat sacred. Unfortunately, I don't think that most casual boaters that pull inflatables understand this. My gf and I took our kids to Lake Oconee Memorial Day weekend and that lake was so crowded and choppy that we never even wakeboarded. We did pull the tube out I the open chop and the kids loved it! My point is that choppy water is good for tubing.

I think a little education could go a long way, but it's hard to educate everyone and some don't want to hear it.

I'm gonna finish by saying that if I'm not wanted somewhere, then I don't was to to be there, but many people don't follow this approach to life.

I absolutely hate tubing... so we simply don't do it. Monkey see monkey do IMHO. I just think it is dumb to be all "tubing sucks,. Hey kids do you want to go tubing?". If you teach the kids to ski and wakeboard they forget all about tubing... even their friends that they invite out for the day.

Tubes are for tires......Most tubers we see at the lake are very rude.

I think most surfers need to be more considerate as well. I live close to a boat laugh and I get boat after boat going by with surfer throwing 3 foot waves up our beach.they need to stay further out. My 2 year old actually got caught in one of the rollers and knocked him over and he couldn't get back up becuase they kept knocking him down.
people say that tubers should learn how to water ski or wakeboard, I think that surfers should do the same. Save surfing for choppy days! Lots of people property has been getting damaged from people surfing to close to shore. The thing with surfing( I do surf as well, but on choppy days) is that people can surf for 45 min per set , where as skiing and wakeboarding you usually roasted after a couple of 5 min sets.
