i'm 210-220 depending on the time of year and ride a P5 danielo pro carbon 54". i got it down one size from the largest so that my girlfriend could use it as well, and i can still ride it no problem. i would say the 58" one would be perfect for 220+. love this board!
I'm 230ish and use the 5' version on this, but if you want a little extra you could get the 5'6"....so far i'm liking the board. Can't speak on other boards/companies as this is my first wakesurf board.
My dealer loves the Liquid Force Happy Pill. Its good enough for experienced but also suitable for newbies. I am your size and got 4 ft 10. We had young girls riding it this weekend and they had a blast.
Everyone we take over 225 lbs usually gets the blue lake first. If that doesn't work we use the Kennan skim w side bites. I've noticed some people find the skim board is easier than a surf style. Red rocket and blue lake are similar. Both good options
My buddy's first rope toss tonight on blue lake. He's 225 or so
I've got no skills and over 225, but can surf my Phase 5 Model X with ease. We've also got a CWB Tsunami and Inland Surfer Squirt that are fun to ride, but the P5 is the fastest for me.
I have a Phase 5 Danielo Diamond 57 and I'm about 205 before lunch.....210 after. Cool board. Love the Phase 5 boards. Just ordered a Model X as a boat board also....53 inch for the girls.
Honestly, the Phase 5 Quest is an awesome board for big guys. it was their 2015 model and they don't make it anymore, but you can still find it for sale, cheap online.
I'm 180 and have surfed $20 wood skim boards you find on a tourist beach, I don't believe in the 'I'm to big for this board', try a few and see what you like for your skill and style.
I debated many boards, then contacted Jeff whallers at Soulcraft. I told him my weight and desired skill level, and he made me a custom hanu. I love it, go to their website and email Jeff, for a nominal fee you can get a custom paint job on the board. I love it. Great service.
