    2016 G23 extra ballast

Hey guys, my family picked up a new 2016 G23 this season and so far we're in love. This is our first "wakeboard" boat after having owned a few Chaparral's in the past.

This past weekend we had my wife's entire family up and the boat was full for surfing. I'd like to recreate those conditions when it's just my immediate family and we don't have a boat full of people.

I want a system that is completely removable from the boat when not in use. I was looking at the Ronix Eight.3 series of bags and pumps because of how fast they fill and drain.

I was thinking the EIGHT.3 TELESCOPE PICKLE FORK CTN 950 LBS BALLAST BAG or the EIGHT.3 TELESCOPE TRIANGLE CTN 600 LBS BALLAST BAG for the bow.

Not sure what size bags will fit in the rear lockers - has anyone else tried some?

Not going the lead route as my parents said no to the weight in the boat 100% of the time. Their boat, their rules. And I respect that because I realize we're really freaking lucky just to be able to own a G23. We use the boat for everything from wakeboarding, wakesurfing, skiing, tubing, crusing, etc.

Thanks in advance, I've already found a lot of useful info on this forum since finding it.

have you tried the boat before adding weight and with only a few people on board? I really don't think the new 2016 hull really needs more than the factory ballast. If you have extra money and time I guess go for it but IMO it isn't needed. I'm 220lbs and get plenty of push from factory setup even with 2 or 3 people in the boat. Just sayin, try out the boat before you add all the extra stuff and extra headaches of additional bags especially if they aren't plumbed in line with the factory bags.

Yes, we surfed all memorial day weekend with just 3 people in the boat. The wave was great but I felt the pocket was very close to the platform despite tinkering with the NSS and NCRS settings.

With more weight in the boat I was able to lower the speed from 11.7~11.9 down to 11.2 and lower and I felt like the wake had more push farther back.

I am very new to wakesurfing and I haven't been able to try any other boards other then the one I bought. That could have something to do with it.

      I'm 180lbs and riding a Liquid Force Fish 5'3"

I have the Ronix 8.3 system. I have an 14' 210 SANTE that I use them in. I have 2 800lb bags in the lockers and 1 400lb triangle bow bag. I can fill all 3 or empty all 3 before my tanks do so. I absolutely love them and that pump is awesome

I have 2 1100's Ronix 8.3 plumbed in the rear (I only fill the surf side) along wit 500lbs lead (wake ballast.com) upfront. Factory ballast full. Wake is awesome (2015 G23)

I have the '16 G23. Why are you wanting to add ballast? The wake on this boat from factory is larger than any other boat manufacturer.
