Extended Mirrors and locks for hitch

I have an 2016 Ram 1500 and will be towing a 2010 216V. I have standard side mirrors - not the large ones. Do I need extension mirrors for towing? What would you recommend. Most towing will be local - maybe 40 minutes. Once during summer I will tow 8 hours from Ohio to upstate NY.

Also - what are you thoughts about locks for the hitch? Do you use them? If so, recommendations?

Thanks for your thoughts in advance.

I pull a 13 230 with standard mirrors on my ram 1500...no issues.

yeah your standard mirrors will be fine. I pull a 2016 G23 with my 2500 Cummins and it even has the tow mirrors but I never flip them out. I will admit, Ram's have about the worst possible side mirrors. And as for the hitch, I do use a lock on mine, but that's also because I paid $350 for the hitch itself.

Lock it. Last thing you want is for some smarty to decide he wants your hitch when your parked. Then your stuck. Low probability but high suck factor.

Thanks for the responses. For locks on the hitch - what kinds do you use? do you use locks on the trailer side AND on the hitch side? If so, what works best? Recommendations?
