Yes, tower is hollow. You will need to bring the wire up from below the deck through one of the legs. I believe mine runs through the front starboard tower leg. You may need to pull the tower in order to drill a hole though the deck.
Depending on the brand of speaker you will use you may want to consider mounting them inside of the supports. Here is mine as an example.(Wet Sound REV8)

Ok cool I'm installing rev 10's so I'll go on the inside of the braces. So your speaker wire travels from the mounted rear tube up through the brace then down through the front leg? I did verify I have a hole through the deck up into the port side.

I believe the tower braces are just welded to the tubing. I don't think you can pull a wire from the front tube to the rear tubing without drilling a hole. At least that's the way the wiring is run on my 03, maybe they changed it in the later years.

I would assume this is true because the wire for my light comes out of the front tube and folds up and back to the light. I guess mounting the speakers on the front tube won't be a terrible idea, I think my Bimini when not open would rest on the speakers if I mounted them on the back bar.

I ran into the same problem trying to get the wires to the rear bar. Heres how I did mine. Ran both channels up the port front tube than just ran them to the back tube. I wanted to run them though the center support but since the tube isn't open it would be a pain to get it through.... Was going to run it up the rear post than do a quick disconnect where the tower separates but was worried about people grabbing there getting in and out of the boat.
