Anyone know what's the best fitting (hidden) bow bag for a '97 or '98 Super Sport (I think '95/'96 are different, and '99 and on also, but not sure(?)) from StraightLine?
Thanks!
I used a fly high W711 on my '99, it filled the full space under the front seats but I dont think it was anywhere near max capacity. Straightline makes an integrated bow sack, but it doesnt look like it is the right shape to maximize the space you have available. Ronix also makes one that looks like it would probably work just as well as the w711, it has a smaller capacity, but it looks like it would probably hold a similar amount when confined under the seats.
One suggestion that I have is to install a quick connect so that you can remove the bag easily - I noticed that it was almost imposable to get the bag completely drained, so you will probably want to remove it at the end of the day.
Thanks for the info!
I think I'll get the Sumo Max 675 Bow Bag and a Super Max Flow Pump (200 lbs/minute or 4250 GPH sounds good!) and keep the bag on top for now. Then next year install auto ballast and get it under the bow.
For the full auto ballast system Wakemakers recommended 3 of the Ultra Ballast Systems. $1500 plus bags... :\ And then they only fill 100 lbs/minute. Isn't there a better/faster option?
What are you doing for the center locker? There's quite a bit of room in there. With one center locker bag and 2 in the back and some friends, that boat is gonna really impress you. The only other thing you may want to do is re-do the locker separators. I rigged up some starboard pieces out back on the cheap to get my bags in there and the plan was to re-do them at some point with carpeted ply but I never got around to it after the wife got pregnant and then ended up selling the boat. I don't think the guy that bought it from me ever did anything with it either. I never talked to him after I sold it, not sure how much he used it. His kids were pretty young at the time so they may have not even ran the boat with additional weight in it. I kept all my sacs. Still have a couple of the Launch Pad 540lb recliner sacs in my attic I need to pull down and sell.
I have no idea yet what I will do. Hoping this thread will help me decide!
Is the shape under the bow the same for the '97/'98 as the '99? Since (if I'm correct) in '99 it changed from playpen to walk through. So I'm guessing first years would need a triangular sack, and '99 and on an arrow. Anyone?
I'm also thinking that putting weight more forward (bow vs center) it'll help get on plane quicker.
I don't know though, I won't have the boat here for another 3-4 weeks at least.
Right now I also have to SL 540's. Need something to balance it our in the front. Then next year get 750's for the back and do the auto ballast install.
I run the W706 under the playpen in my 98 SS. It fits fine and fills up about half way. I run W705 in belly and W707s in rear. The W706 piggbacks off the W705. My only complaint is that the W705 bends the belly lid upward when filled and filling the bow. I am thinking about changing out the W705 in the belly to something smaller that won't bend the lid.
Wait, sorry, I've been mixing things up a bit. I said arrow but meant what StraightLine calls "open bow"; a triangle with a bite out of it
Like in this pic.
Anyway, think I'll see how the Sumo Max 675 Bow Bag works, if available.
I have a 98 SS and was planning to use the nautique arrow sac (W721) because there is actually room for an arrow arm as the ski locker is not connected to the playpen area; where the arrow (arm) piece can run under the walk through. Anyone had success with this? I'm not sure the sumo bag above will actually work, but I could be wrong.
Just to make clear, I was (and am) in doubt between the shape that I posted the pic above of, and this one that I'm now planning to get:
I wasn't considering the arrow shape, that you posted. Thought it didn't fit. But now that may be an option too it seems.
Nice; more options, just what I needed!
Last time I was at my boat I measured (this is a 98 Super Sport)... Trinagle/ arrow shape measured approx. 48" for each side for the triangle piece and about 7" height, arrow/ arm piece 12" W x 6" H x 32" L.... The nautique arrow bag W721, should work but obviously will not fill all the way but compared to what you posted above you'd get a little bit extra weight with the arm of the arrow.
