I have a 93 Nautique Excel/Barefoot Nautique. I've always been told that no wood was used in the manufacturing of that boat (other than the teak platform and teak strips). I have a friend looking at purchasing a 91 Excel. First of all, is this true about my 93, and second, would this also apply to the 91 model my friend is looking at? I'd like to find out pretty soon as he may be driving a couple hundred miles this weekend to check this 91 out and possibly buy. This information may be a deciding factor for him. Anyone know for shure?

I believe there is some confusion out there about this. In 1993, Correct Craft went from wood stringers to fiberglass stringers. There is no mention anywhere that I have seen of ALL wood being eliminated from their boats, although that may have been the case.

Pretty sure it was just the ski/sport that went to glass stringers in 93. They continued to use wood in the combing pads until '95.
