What surfs better? 2012 Sante 230 w/NSS or 2014 210 w/NSS

Looking at getting back in to a Nautique! They've always been my favorite boat.
I'm looking at a 2012 230 with NSS and a 2014 210 with NSS. Now I know the 14s got some hull changes to work better with NSS and the deeper interior/top deck.
That said is it possible the 14 210 surfs better than the 2012 230?
I just cant test both out before I make the decision as there out of town. I know they are both great boats, but whats going to surf the best and what other pros / cons?
price wise the 230 is slightly cheaper, but the quality of the boat/ surf wave is the important thing.

I have some experience in both boats, the 230 will surf better. Also consider in '12 the 230 was their top model boat (pre G intro) and had a lot more "content" than the model change '14+ boats have. I like the '14 + versions and the graphics/designs appeal to me.
I have an '08 230 listed, and it surfs WAY better than my friend's '15 210 w/pro ballast & NSS. We need to try his boat w/more weight in the rear lockers to see if that improves the wake...

I disagree, I would put my 2014 210 with NSS up against most 230's. Its a great wake and can do it with a lot less weight. It is equally as good as the 230's are.

Do you mind sharing your setup? My friend's '15 210 with Pro Ballast setup all full is not even close to my 230. I'm running stock with a Fly Hi arrow in the belly (+~650#'s), stock rear surf side plus a Sumo 900 (close to 1000#), so probably a total of 2200# (listed to surf side). The Pro Ballast is approx 1700#'s on the 210, he's not running listed and is using the NSS setup.
Another friend had a '12 230 with NSS and his wake was better than the 210's, we really didn't have much additional ballast in that boat, I could surf almost 20' back on that one, no way even close on the 210 wake...

Even with NSS it likes to be listed a bit. On our 2013 210 with NSS we are running stock hard tanks with 750's in each rear locker and a 370 lb tube sac in the front ski locker. I usually run surf side all full, belly all full and non surf side stock tank full and extra 750 about 1/3 full. Makes a very nice wave for sure. I can post pics later when I get home of both sides.

I agree. I have a 2015 210 and have friends that have 230's and my wave is as good or better then most. The fact that the 14 is 2 years newer and you can get a badass wave would be my deciding factor.

Pro ballast is not enough for the 210's though. I run ronix 550's on top of hard tanks and 300lbs of lead. I could even keep trays in but prefer not to.

Hard tanks and 550's in each locker then I put 100lb on goofy side and 150-200lb on regular side depending on how many people in the boat. I'll move 50lbs around depending on who's riding.

I ended up buying the '12 230 with NSS. For me it was a no brainer I've owned multiple 210 and other 21 ft boats and always wanted a bigger boat, I find the 230 handles the rougher waters way better and I can't honestly believe a 210 is capable of surfing as good as a 230 weighted right to weighted right apples to apples there's just no way a 21 surfs as good as a 23.

Anyways in in love with my 230, was landing transfers on my second try and moved from 360s to 720s. I immediately ripped out my rear hard tanks and replaced with 1100 lb fly highs, then added the bow V sac under the front seats piggybacked off the centre tank. I believe ballast total is 3300lbs. I ride at NSS 0, and gate at 0-2. 10.3 mph everything full. Best crew is a driver and one spotter and spotter moves to surf side simultaneously when we do transfers. This way the wake is sick on either side. Will be experimenting with 400 lb sacs on seats, and if have extra crew a 400 in the bow walk thru.

now my biggest concern is buying the right surfboard. Currently riding a 4'2" inland surfer 4skim, skim style and I'm wanting another board better for catching airs!

I don't think there really was a wrong choice! 210-230, as long as the first part is nautique its gonna be a good boat
