Padding for rear hatchers/lockers to save boards?

It seems that boards get pretty banged up going in and out of the rear lockers unless you are really careful. Has anyone used https://smile.amazon.com/Elf-Star-Pr...s=edge+padding or something similar to pad the sharp edges of the fiberglass?

    Thanks!

Never used those. Not sure what edges your talking about as your model of boat is not displayed in your title and post details at top. I think your referring to the interior lip of the top deck inside the v drive lockers? If so your boat doesn't have a trim piece over that lip? Nautique parts I think sells the trim pieces for those lips

That's exactly what I'm referring to. I have a 2015 G23. Is this something I can get from nautiqueparts.com? Not having any luck finding them!

      Thanks
      Michael

This is what I was referring to. This I think is used on my boat but it's much older than yours.

I ordered 25' of 1/4" Black Edge Trim Lok via ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/181909392077) for two boats for ~$25 and it worked out well. The fiberglass width changes as you work your way around the rear hatches, so 1/4" was pretty tight. I simply used taps from a rubber mallet to slowly work it on. You could also consider https://www.zoro.com/trim-lok-inc-fi...25/i/G4163577/ for $68, which adjusts from 1/4" to 1/2", which I think would be perfect.

So glad I did this, the boards are no longer getting beat up.

Saweeet!! Funny I was just looking into doing something like this for my '16 G23. Then forgot all about it and now today I run across this thread! Excellent! I'll be ordering some asap!

Question....you say 25' covered 2 boats? So 15' should be enough for just 1, correct?

Yes, I'd get 13' to be safe as I'm not sure the exact length I used. Make sure to measure the width of your fiberglass around the rear lockers. My 2015 was consistently 1/4" to 5/16", but had a couple of wide sections where I had to cut the back of the edging as it wouldn't stretch that far.

Hey Doc, No, that wouldn't work. If you look at the catalog 700 tab on http://www.trimlok.com/prod/Edge-Gua...CategoryID=120, it shows that it fits edges up to 1/8". I started on the trimlok website and then worked outwards from their to find prices on google or ebay. I would stick with one of the two products I listed based on my research.
