Steering Wheel Swap

I would like to update the steering wheel on my 98 SNOB. You should not need the installation kit. It is very easy. FIrst you will want to center the rudder. Then remove the large nut on the steering shaft that hold the wheel on. Replace the wheel with the new one and tighten nut. If I recall it is a 3/4" or a 13/16" . You can then purchase the Nautique "N" button emblem/ decal on Nautiqueparts.

Hey thanks Paxdad! So I assume the 6 hex head screws that are visible around the center cap only help support the wheel to prevent it from ever turning on the steering shaft once it's snugged up? Do I just pry the center cap out of the stock wheel to gain access to the shaft nut then or is there a trick to removing it? I'm wondering if it will fit the new grant wheel so I can simply transfer it over. They both appear to have the same size cap at least from the pictures anyway.

Thanks NautiqueJeff! I am going to hang on to it in case things don't work out with the Grant. Do you happen to know how the center cap on the original wheel is removed? I assume it simply prys out of the hole in the center where I will find access to the hub nut.

yes, the center cap just prys out and then you will have access to the hub nut.
