We just picked up a 2006 220 with a ZR6.I know some guys like the rumble but I on the other hand want a bit less noise.I see bakes has a turn down and obviously theres the FAE.Are these the only 2 options. The FAE for the 220 looks very basic from what I can see.Im not sure I can justify the price to myself let alone my wife.Im not opposed to the Bakes one but justwonder if there are others. The idling around sound/gargall noise is what I'm trying to eliminate.

We did FAE on our 220 and will never have another boat without it. I'm a hot rod guy and love the sound of a V8 but I'm over it on a boat. Actually surfed my buddies Centurion the other night and couldn't stand it. You can't hear the tunes and you've got the loud exhaust right in your face. Install is pretty straight forward and the folks at FAE were very helpful. Can't speak for the other company. You won't regret it.

I am in my 5th FAE(because of new boats , not failure) having one has spoiled us and we will never own another boat without it. It makes the boat seem likes it's almost not even running. We get compliments all the time and have ended up costing people a ton of money over the years because of riding in our boats. Not only is the noise reduction awesome, exhaust fumes are reduced , and if you run any type of tower speakers you gain some performance to hear the tunes.
You're 220 at idle will keep the exhaust port under water. The minute you plane ( ski ,surf wakeboard, tube , cruise) you exhaust will be completely out of the water and you'll here that sound. Especially with ZR6. I personally think it's worth every penny. Their customer service is too notch , and they are very good to the forum members. You may even possibly still be able to piggy back on the group buy price even tho it's over. Doesn't hurt to try.Last edited by swatguy; 07-21-2016, 08:03 PM.
