Research for buying G23 in spring time

Hi guys,

My wife and I are pretty dead set on buying a G23 this spring.
Ideally the boat would be a 2016, used for at least one season (two if delivered early in 2015) and have very limited options other than the H6 motor. 200 hours or less is fine.

What do you think we would have to pay for a boat like this? I priced out a 2017 at the local dealer with the same specs, 130K with trailer after discount. Wondering if I could get a used 2016 for close to 100K or if I'm totally dreaming.

Dreaming most likely. I would say $115k is more accurate. Problem is that most G are optioned pretty well, maybe more than you want even.

Looking at the 2016 G23 on www.onlyinboards.com they seem to be running in the $120k+ price range. I don't see the 2016's depreciating another $20k+ by next spring. Even the 2014's and 2015's are currently over $100k.

Agreed, dreaming. I just sold my 2013 for mid 90s so a 2016 is going to be MUCH more than that.

Yeah you don't see a lot of G's that aren't optioned to the 9's. Lot's stuff I don't need/want (heated seats, phender system, Z5 rack) that keeps the prices of these boats in the stratosphere.

I know where you can get a great 2015 G23 for a good price... Just happens to be last year's PN boat (the Reef Blue one). It has almost every option though (no 550 or table). Price will likely be a little over $100K. Beautiful boat though, and set up properly!

Yes exactly. So this boat gets negotiated down to 105k probably. Doesn't it sell closer to 100k next spring when the 2017's are on the market?

I think that boat is priced LOW to sell now, agree that spring is more of a sellers market.

My .02 would be find a 2016 on the market now and watch until November or December. If it sits on the market from now until then the sellers might be motivated to get close to your number. That said I think $100K is an aggressive goal. A 2016 that approaches that would be optioned without a lot of different colors, no design package, heaters, etc. but you already know that. I also think you will have to target boats with close to 200 hours and from coastal areas (such as Florida) where boats are presumed to have saltwater exposure.
