Sorry. Saw the post there first. Just like to give unbias info

storsge is good in the 210. Gets ginormous if you take out the tanks and put bags in there. The MC's have much bigger and deeper bow areas. So if the kiddos like the bow it's hard to discount that. The 210 bow isn't exactly huge by any stretch. But the cockpit area in the 210 is about as good as it gets. You get just a touch more storage in the X15 than a 210.

Agree with swatguy, I upgraded to an 08 210 and I don't think I'll ever get rid of it, Unless a deal comes up on a '13 which is the same thing.
We ride at ~22 with about 2600lbs all hidden, all full in about 6-7 minutes and the wake is great!
Cannot overstate the seating arrangement, probably the best of the 21 footers.

The only thing I will say regarding the 230 is they like a lot of weight and a faster speed else the wake can be quite crumbly. Other than that, bigger is better.

The 08 I'm looking at had 980hrs, not bad but I know we will be putting a ton of hours on it. Scared me a little . My 03 only had 600

That's definitely on the higher side of hours. While engines go well into the 15-1700 ( **** I know my original 88 2001 Nautique just clicked 1975 without a hiccup......I'd still be Leary unless it was a smoking deal. Good chance at finding one well under that.

Am I the only one that sees a crap ton of value in a new boat warranty?

I enjoy working on my own stuff but where I am from summers are short and the last thing I want to be doing is wrenching on a boat all summer.

Can a new Moomba, MB or Axis be had for 60K?

              Doc

I would agree that with all the new technology and gadgets thrown in new boats a warranty is a nice thing. But herr you can still get 08-09-10's with minimal technology at 1/2 to 1/3 of the price of new makes that jump harder to swallow. I could have snatched up a 11-13 with little warranty left when I pulled the trigger on my 08. However 08 Gave me analog gauges , no CATs , no touch screens , and a much easier platform to sit and trouble shoot. I racked up over 1200 on my previous boat (Mc) and it was in the shop maybe 6 times its hole life. Being able to trouble shoot and fix issues without having to go to a dealer to do a software upgrade, trouble shoot electronics etc was very appealing. It not like we are wrenching on out boats weekly.

But think about this when a problem arises and you rely on dealership to get in to fix it and the time varies by time of season. It's could sit at dealer for issues for 2-3 days sometimes week in peak season . Having the ability to diy saves you those down days too

Valid points but I could say the same for a new 60K boat with a warranty. It's not like you hear people out of comission all the time with new boats breaking down. Some people don't like the technology. I happen to love it and that includes automation of NCRS, NSS, touchscreen, etc. I have also owned 4 boats with tons of technology and never had an issue with any of it.

Your theory also assumes that everyone has the ability to fix anything on an older boat. While that may be true for some, it is a relatively uncommon skill. Also, I would like the protection of a warranty if something catastrophic happens. In a 7 year old boat, you are S.O.L.

All valid points to consider. No one right answer. Each buyer is different.

Sadly 60 k new boats beyond 20ft are like unicorns in my area. A Moomba Helix or an A20 are it and you're still after taxes license and prep going to be pushing 65k . While great boats in all respects tough to dismiss what you get size wise

That is what I was wondering too Swat. Can you still get a new moomba or axis for 60K?

I did the same... I just got mine installed and used it this past week. While there is better fit and finish with the official NSS, this version works and works well. PM me if you have questions!
