I currently own a '10 Mastercraft X45 but am looking into purchasing a Nautique. I'm looking at a '13 G23 or G25. My family and I are way into surfing but occasionally will strap on the wakeboard or ski. What are the major benefits to either (besides the size)? Are the surf wakes comparable? Looking for any input please!

G23 has a slightly better wake and wave, but the G25 has more room and is great especially if you're going to be out in it all day with a bigger group of people.
Keep in mind that NSS was not available when the early '13 models came out. It was optional for the next year, so not all boats have it. You should look for one with NSS if you plan to surf a lot. You can add it later, but it is about $3K if I remember correctly.
In 2013, the G23 could be had with an Excalibur 330. Avoid that engine in the G23. That engine was not available in the G25.
Also, the 409 and 450 engines did not have the 2:1 V-drive gear ratio in 2013, and the 409 can be especially slow to plane with full ballast. The 450 is not as bad, and there are no worries with the 550 in either boat. I would suggest at least a 450 in either boat unless you plan to surf almost exclusively.
The 2013 G-series boats also had some driveshaft issues, but most of those should have been addressed by the dealers by now. You might want to verify that any 2013 that you look at is up to date with recalls and updates before completing the purchase. Remember that warranty transfer has to be paid for within 30 days I believe, and as a second owner, you will get a parts-only warranty (no labor). That's why it is important to have everything repaired by the current owner prior to taking ownership.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. All good info by Jeff. Definitely check that the driveshaft has been replaced with the 1 1/4 shaft. Its a warranty item and should be covered. Also you have 15 days to do the warranty transfer, not 30. I personally love my G25. All reviews say the wake and wave is SLIGHTLY less than a G23 but I'm no pro so its more than enough for our family and I like all the space we have. You have to put it in perspective, a wake and wave slightly less than a G23 is still a crazy good wake.

I totally forgot about that! Yes, its a toughy to ski behind. Problem is not only the size of the bump but the depth of the trough between the bumps. Prop wash is also quite hard so its like you have 3 major bumps to get across. This is the second video afer his first attempt where he had 1 turn. He had already backed off a lot going across the wake at this point. In his defense, this was also his first time on this ski, it was not his own. FWIW this is at 30mph, no ballast, 2 adults and 3 kids in the boat, ncrs at 0:
