Looks like they took the new VTX path after all. I don't entirely understand the concept of this boat? Anyone who boards/surfs, I'd think would go G21. No way a slalom skier buys this thing, unless coerced by family. I wish they'd just work to improve their existing discipline-dedicated product lines, and not mess around with crossover models, that are usually short lived anyway.'08 196LE (previous)

I have a few thoughts
1)First of all, thank you Nautique for not falling into this trend of these stupid lifestyle videos. One of the most annoying things about owning a Mastercraft was having to watch these inane videos with the nitro circus people and Donovan Frankenreiter acting like idiots for 10 minutes at a time. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Clearly, Nautique is selling a bad *** boat and not a lifestyle. Good for you Nautique.
2)As predicted, this is a new crossover. The biggest gripe I hear about crossovers is that the ski wake sucks. This comes mainly from my friends that are slalom guys. I'm guessing this thing puts out a decent recreational wake but nothing that will make a hard core skier happy. It's a 4500 lb dry weight 20 foot boat. It's just not gonna happen. I think the slalom guys just need to accept it. Maybe it isn't possible and I was wrong as someone stated earlier in this thread?
3)This boat looks great and I love that Nautique doesn't beat you to death with options that no one would ever pass up. Can someone please tell me why Gen 2 and Surfgate are still "options"? The GS20 comes standard with NSS and a bunch of cool new features. And things that should be optional are optional. Once again, good for you Nautique. They could have easily made the boat 89K MSRP and made NSS a 6K option. Well done.
4)100 points to anyone that can tell me the band playing on the phone on the new page for GS20 on the Nautique website. Best band to come out in the past 10 years. I am so loving this boat and brand.

Totally agree that a crossover boat will never produce a tournament slalom wake. No worries here, since we still have 196's and 200's This boat just seems like a tough sell, sandwiched between the G21 and 200. I hope they sell a slew of them, as that just provides R&D funds for future SN's.'08 196LE (previous)

I Guess I'm the guy they made this for. Former tournament skier who is pushing 50, but still likes to get out and ski, really enjoys surfing, and has young kids who wakeboard. I think its great, of course that is why I'm still in an 07 211. I just wish they made it without all the electronic gadegtry, since I live and boat 95% of the time in salt water. Real street pricing will determine when I get one. It seems to be what the Sport 200 should have been. Malibu will loose a lot of VTX customers to this boat.
