    New G owner. First SAN

Hi guys. So most of you have probably seen me lurking and posting over the past few weeks. I am coming from a 2014 Malibu 23 LSV to a 2015 X-30 and now a 2016 G23.

I absolutely LOVE this boat. This thing is amazing. Super happy with my purchase and thanks for all the helpful info so far.

Why do you like it over the x30? Please describe.

We sold are older x30 and bought a 210 super air last week.

Waiting on the 2017 g series to possibly move up next year.

nice! Youre made a good decision

A few years ago I started looking at second hand wake setters (06-08) and ended up in a new g23 never looked back!

          Sweet looking boat, buddy!

I knew you would never downgrade to an MB (not that they are a bad boat). Good choice on the G.

Well, if you are trying to compare apples to apples, the G23 is probably more similar to an X23. The X-30 is more of a crossover boat. I know the ski snobs will say that it skis like crap but for recreational open water skiing it's fine.

That being said, I didn't really dislike the X-30. It was a great boat and really well built. MC and Nautique are both top end but top end in a different way. The MC is all about bling, looks and beauty. That is cool, don't get me wrong. But what I have noticed about the G is that there is more attention to functionality. Even my wife commented on how well thought out the boat is.

I have also surfed pretty much every top end boat out there (including the M235) and the new G23 is the only one that doesn't need any additional ballast. The stock surf wave and wakeboard wake are spectacular.

So while they are both really nice boats, I appreciate the G for its pure wave/wake performance and high degree of functionality. I appreciate the X-30 for its beauty and finesse.

I was close. But then I am reading that the wave on the new B52 is garbage. That's the problem with a company like MB. There is ZERO R and D. That is why they have had 3 surf systems in 18 months. Scary....

Another one goes over to the darkside... Great choice Doc! Nicely done. I would have splurged for a better trailer though, that single axle looks a bit overwhelmed 😆

I see that you purchased it from Silver Spray Sports in Fenton. What lake do you go to? What type of skiing do you do?

Haha. I tried to post a pic of the trailer and it wouldn't let me. The trailer is sweet actually. It is super beefy. 6 inch tubing!

I live up on Sanford lake outside of Midland. I do skiing that either involves a wide board strapped to my feet where I can jump the wake and do tricks. Or...really slow skiing at 11 mph that involves a surfboard.

They have been great so far. Jeff is THE MAN. I was really sad to leave Action because they are so good but Jeff has been just as good.

I will say, too, that the factory tour set up by my dealer had a lot to do with the purchase. I got a "VIP" tour and then JD Webb took us out surfing and wakeboarding. He is a cool dude.
