    Spinner and Flight Clips Racks

Does anyone have spinner and the flight clip racks? If so can you have boards in both racks without the boards interfering with one another? At times we have that 5th or 6th rider and I don’t want boards lying around the boat.

    Also pictures would be great.

RE: Spinner and Flight Clips Racks

Ryan, you can get four boards in a set of Spinners fine and they work great. I'll guess that you're asking about how they work in conjuction with a set of fixed billet-mounted Flight Clips. If that's your question, clarify and I'm sure someone out there has them both on their boat. I seem to recall some Ausie having them both on his '06 210TE.

Well it was clear to me. Maybe because I know what I am asking. If it does not make sense please read Rhode's post.

      Thanks.

My bad. I was reading too fast.

The only thing I can add is to say that the Spinners are designed to mount on the upper part of the FCT and there is not a lot of play in that stretch of piping. Try searching PN under "bimini"; I recall there being some good pictures from last fall of a 210 with Spinners. I also have a recollection of someone who had set their new 210 up with both Spinners and Flight Clips, maybe and Ausie.

We run flight clips and spinners. Put all boards in the clips for traveling short ditances, as the weight when hitting bumps on the road destroys the centre of the spinners. You can put both boards in the clips and both boards in the spinners as long as the bindings are faced the right directions. We usually run one in the inside clip and two on the spinners (if we have that many riders on board). Last year we just ran an extra set of clips up on the top rail of the fct.

Thanks for the information. I currently run a extra set on top of the tower but on occasions I will need to lower the tower and I would have to take the racks off on top to do so.

I look forward to the pictures.

If that's the case, then what does rough water do to the center of the spinners? I know that when we are in rough water, the bumps that we take are much harder than when on the road.

that is what i was thinking. i had the same spinners, titan ones on my malibu which are the same thing as far as i know from the pics, and there were no problems with them at all. no destroying of centres on the road or the water. they are quite strong, but still a pain with the bungee cords and the pit pins to lock them in place. half the time we didn't spin them.

Are the spinners any good? That is do you actually spin them around or is it just easier to retrieve it from the outside like the normal flight clips?

I think the spinners are great, you just pull a pin and spin them around. Much better than the old flight clips.

Unfortunately the spinners are only for the new towers. Where the rear leg has a slight bend in it such that the two mounts on the spinner racks wont' fit the straight tubing of the older towers. I would personally rather see an arm style swing rack to get the boards to point straight into the boat for mounting and get the boards to swing away from the bimini. Skylon makes something close to what I'd like to see but, from what I've heard they're junk.

yeah we spin them in, only problem is that your wet board drips over anyone sitting in the seats under. Much easier using the spinners than the flight clips
