similar location to homer's but mine is deeper in the water. I found it sprayed up in the vent and on top of the pad if it was not deep enough. I took on enough water for both bilge pumps to run for a good 5 minutes after running it for about 5 minutes with water spraying up while testing with it mounted too high. Right under the through hull ports with the suction cups down by the ridge in the hull seems to work well.

I found mine through quite a bit of water up towards the vent as well but not much getting in it. made me nervous though. I was running less weight than you as well. I'll get as close to that step in the hull as possible then.

Hey Mike, I have a n 07 SV211, your wakesurf gate looks great, thanks for the source info. I can't seem to get the plans to come up. Any chance you might PM them to me or re-post. Maybe the format will come up correctly this time. I would love to try making one for next season. Unfortunately our season has just come to a crashing halt due to Fall

So I build one of these too, and cannot get mine to stick to the hull. Any tips? It is low and all the way back, but once i push past 7 MPH it loses suction. I am wondering if I am getting to much water flow between the board and the hull and tripping the suction tab, but not sure. Id love to know any tips you guys have for successfully getting this to stick the suction to the hull.

Too far back and the hull is too rounded. Mine is almost lined up so the front is right under the through hull ballast penetrations. Look back in previous posts. Show pics of yours too

Sorry it took so long to get back to you... I had the dealer remove the hard tanks and they put in 1100 lb bags. I am pretty certain I cannot fill them to capacity but can come pretty close.

It takes some perfecting to get these WakeSurf Shapers working right. I went through many iterations and finally perfected a unit. Cup spacing, weight, size, angle, controlling water flow and quality suction cups are key. You can check it out on NautiCurl.com
Hope you find something that works for you, they make a huge difference!

Mine is set at 60 degrees and the plate is approx 8' x 9' in size. I currently have the factory hard tanks but have purchased rear wedge sacs that sit on top of factory rear hard tanks, a bow sac and another sac to go under the love set. I was going to make a manifold with a single Jabsco pump to fill and empty the sacs individually but after seeing this post I wonder if its actually going to be worth the extra effort. Am also considering installing an FAE.

I have this same set up but have had the suction cups come lose at about 8-9 mph. Any tricks to help keep suction?

I was the OP and my solution was to buy a '15 230. It works awesome, and I highly recommend the technique.
