I'm looking at the new GS20 and am hoping it can fill some gaps between what I want to do and can do in my 2016 210 with the 343 Excalibur engine. First I love my 210. It's a great boat. Wake surfing is great with the NSS. Takes longer than I want to get up on plane fully loaded for wakeboarding but once up its fantastic. I live on a small lake and eat up a chunk of my straight line starting. We also like to barefoot and have a rock solid tower mount boom from International Barefoot that I love however the top end on my 210 is lacking. It hits 38 with my usual crew in it and drops to 35 or 36 on a turn or when the footer starts creating more drag. The boom is important to us because we teach a lot of kids to ski and foot.
The GS20 comes with the 409 engine as standard and should give me more top end and torque. However I don't believe we can use my existing boom since the tower has been redesigned, plus the tower is located farther aft on the boat and the spray on the sides appears closer to the bow on plane than my 210. I'm hoping the NCRS can be adjusted to move the spray farther back but won't be able to tell until I ride in one. Attaching to the rear pylon with an s curve bar may be an option but with the tower located farther aft it may get in the way.
Do any of you have suggestions on where and how to mount a boom on the GS20?
